24/7 cat & dog friendly household

Pet care experience

Boarding, day-care, & evening-care for your cat-friendly, dog-friendly pooch! Work-from-home mature couple in Wallingford would love to host your dog for the day, overnight, weekend, or longer stays. * About this sitter: We're an animal-loving household and welcome any breed of dog, old or young, medium or small, and we'd like the opportunity to offer convenience and peace of mind for you, and caring companionship for your dog. We always have a meet-and-greet before the visit, to get to know your dog's needs and routine, and make sure we're a good fit. The dogs we meet through Rover range from mellow loners to the-more-the-merrier individuals, all our regular guests have met and get along. With first-timers, we don't host any other dogs during your stay, so we can get to know your dog on its own. When we do combine dog visitors, we're careful about introductions and whom we place together. Sometimes we arrange a test run play-date, or an overnight, prior to the longer visit so your dog is familiar with us, Lexi, the cats, and our home. This is helpful for dogs who aren't used to being separated from their family. Short notice requests can be accommodated for regular visitors. We don't accept last-minute/drop-in requests with (new) dogs we haven't met. We'll send you updates and pictures as often as you like. We take videos and photos and keep a "dog log" with short descriptions of activities which we'll share with you via texts and Rover messages. We also have Skype if you are interested. Either way, we always encourage communication. * Why we love dog sitting: Both of us have had various pet family members from an early age, and have seldom been without animal companions. We were Rover-sitting before we adopted our dog, who came to us as a rescue foster. She gets along well with all the regulars and has established some loving friendships with our Rover visitors. * Meet my pets: We share our home with our Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Lexi, and three friendly cats of various ages. The older cat is dog-friendly but often just keeps to himself, our two younger cats (both aged 6) are very sociable with dogs and not at all shy about making friends with them (snuggles, play-time, chase). * About my yard: Your dog will be accompanied at all times when outdoors and in the yard. We live in an older craftsman home with a fenced yard, close to Woodland Park. The yard is fenced and private, about 40' by 40', but room enough for play and runs around the circular garden (doggie race-track), and surrounded by trees and shrubbery. We think of it as an "urban-rustic" secret garden. * My experience administering medication: We have experience administering oral, topical, ears/eyes, and injectable medications.

I used Trin & Gwydion's services to watch my 3 pound Chihuahua, Isabel when I first started with Rover. I was unsure of how to work Rover at those times and completely forgot to leave them a review. Now that I am starting to use Rover again and am more familiar with it, I am leaving my review. Trin & Gwydion are amazing sitters and spoil all the pets in their care. I highly recommend their services, as you can tell they really care about the pets they sit. Isabel has not been with me since she passed three years ago, but I still remember how excited she would get every time we would drop her off at their place. If I still lived in Wallingford, Trin & Gwydion would be my only choice for sitting my current dog, Mickey! Thank you for being amazing to Isabel, guys!

I continue to be impressed by the level of care and attention that my pup gets here. Thank you both.

Information T. R. J. would like to know about your pet

Please fill out your dog's profile before requesting services. More information helps us determine a good fit. We also have a small questionnaire which we would ask you to complete and add to your "Care Instructions"/info section, or in a message before we arrange a meet-and-greet. The more info you provide, the better we can give your dog an enjoyable stay while s/he is in our care. We ask that all visitors please be up to date on their shots, dewormers, and flea prevention. We meet a lot of dogs on a regular basis and take care in keeping everyone happy, healthy, and flea-free (including your pup). We prefer that dog-owners have an emergency back-up plan (friends/family/other sitters). What we'd like to know before we schedule a meet-and-greet: * Is your dog neutered/spayed? * Is your dog fully house/potty trained? * How does your dog respond to cats? * How does your dog get along with other dogs? * Does your dog have special needs? * Is your dog up to date on their shots, dewormers, and flea prevention? * Has your dog had previous stays away from home (if yes, did your dog stay with strangers, or friends/family)? * Description of your dog's energy level (active, moderate, medium, or mellow).
* For dogs 1 y/o or younger: has your dog been tested, or treated, for Giardia? * Does your dog have any behavioral issues or concerns (for example: excessive barking, chewing, resource-guarding, separation anxiety, scent-marking)? If so, how are they dealt with?

A typical day

* Here's where we'll take our walks: The woods, park, tennis court, and neighborhood. We live just a few blocks from Woodland Park, which has an off-leash area in the woods (optional depending on owner's preferences). We rarely visit off-leash parks because of it being an unpredictable environment, if you'd like your dog to socialize with other dogs then we can arrange play-dates in a controlled setting with suitable dogs whom we are familiar with. * Your dog's sleeping arrangement: Indoors, anywhere comfy. The dogs often sleep on the couch or bed with us; please indicate if your dog isn't allowed on furniture at home and we'll apply the same rules your dog is used to. If your dog is used to sleeping in a crate or a pen, please bring it with you. We have pet beds, throws, pillows, blankets, but we do encourage you to bring your dog's bed and/or blanket. * Time I'll spend with your dog: Our dog has separation anxiety which means both of us are at home unless either of us needs to be somewhere (or if we're able to bring our dog with us). Your dog will be in our company 24/7, won't be left unattended, and will have frequent interaction with us. If your dog has separation anxiety, mobility restrictions, or you simply just prefer peace-of-mind 24/7 companionship; we're accustomed to scheduling our arrangements so there's always someone at home.
