Avid animal lover ready to help!

Pet care experience

My first job, at age 10, was Neighborhood Pet sitter. Dogs, cats, and fish. I'm 50 now, and ready to do it again. I've been watching animals off and on for friends for 40 years but haven't done it professionally since childhood. I'd like to offer this service because, as a pet owner, I know how precious our animal friends are.

Sylvia is wonderful with my little pups! They always have loads of fun with her and they get plenty of entertainment. She is also super friendly and easy to work with!

I have always appreciated Sylvia's love of animals, big and small. She has always been a loving caregiver to her own pets, and I always enjoy taking my own dogs to her home to spend time with her. When I need to leave town for work for a short trip, I know she always has our four legged friends best interest in mind when taking care them!

Sylvia's love for animals is profound. She is the best "cat mommy" a feline could ask for, and is deeply committed to their being healthy, comfortable and and happy. With regards to their overall care, she is fastidious about the quality of their food and regular veterinary visits. Sylvia is a wonderful candidate for a dog walking and pet sitting position through Rover. In the interest of full disclosure: One of the top three reasons I married Sylvia is because of her deep love for animals.

Sylvia cared for my cats for a number of years and was a wonderful, loving, and conscientious caretaker! We were so sad when she moved out of our area. I would highly recommend her!

Our cats are indoor only. We do have two dogs who visit who belong to very close friends of ours, and they do ok with the cats because they all know each other. I'd be able to bring a dog to our home, but it would be better to care for them at their home. I feel confident caring for cats, dogs, fish, and turtles. The way I'd take care of an animal in their own home is to respect their space.

Information Sylvia B. would like to know about your pet

I like to know everything possible about any animals that I care for. What their personality is, what they like to do, where their favorite places in the house are (that's often a cat thing) and what they like to eat. If animals are nervous for any reason, this is something I want to know so that I can approach them gently.

A typical day

I am happy to take dogs on long walks in their neighborhoods, and play with them outdoors when it's safe. (Enclosed yard or dog park.) My friends have high-energy Boston terriers that I watch sometimes, and I love seeing them tear around a park at top speed! If the cats I care for have toys they love, I will cheerfully play with them. If they want to be left alone, I will do that too!
