Pet care experience
I have taken care of many friends’ pets while they are away - senior dogs, puppies, even multi-pet homes including cats, fish, birds, reptiles and other small animals! I have experience at 2 different dog daycares (Wags and Petsmart) where I have worked with groups of up to 22 dogs, and have learned a lot about differences in dog breeds as well as dog language! I am a recent ISU graduate and former Blank Park Zoo intern, and animals are my passion! Your babies will be in great hands with me. I am more than happy to follow a list of care instructions for your pets! I am familiar with special diets, medications, separation during feeding, and crate training. I am unfortunately not able to watch your pets from my home. Please note that Rover keeps 20% of my rates and charges you and extra 10% on top of that. Because of this, my rates are inflated to reflect Rover's fees.

Sydney did a great job taking care of my 2 cats. 1 needed medication twice a day, and I was very comfortable leaving that with her. She sent me pictures and updates. I would definitely use her again!

Pets in my care are always given plenty of attention and one-on-one time. I enjoy playtime with cats and dogs, be that tug, chase, fetch, or belly rubs. During walks, I enjoy giving dogs plenty of sniff time as well as physical exercise.

Please let me know of any behavioral challenges (leash reactivity, resource guarding), quirks, and special things your pets like, or don’t like! I have experience with dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and personalities
A typical day
Mental and physical stimulation are both super important for dogs of all ages and sizes. I typically like to use puzzle toys, some fun time with a ball or other toy, and a nice walk around a nearby park! If you have a fenced yard, I’ll most likely utilize it for fetch or a game of chase! And of course we can’t forget to make room for cuddles. Cats need all this, too! I encourage cats in my care to play with the toys they enjoy as well as show behaviors like climbing and sharpening claws (on appropriate surfaces, of course!)

Availability
I have been working part-time at Petsmart since November, and my schedule is irregular. This typically leaves me available before 12:30pm for weekday drop-ins and walks.
