Pet care experience
I have a deeper connection to animals than I have with people. My life journey is for them. There has never been a time in my life where I was not working, caring and living with them. (I currently live with, one dog, one cat, one frog and one tarantula! I have a lot of experience with a variety of different species; big and small. I offer pet boarding for all critters that live in tanks or enclosures. Due to landlord rules I am unable to board and house any other dogs, cats or rabbits. Therefore, I am only able to take in any pets with enclosures. (This is mainly needed for pets that may need additional care outside of a standard 30 minute house visit). Please reach out if you are looking for a boarder for your reptile, rodent, aquatic, avian, and any other critter that has an enclosure. They are also deserving of a good vacation!
Reviews
Sydney provided wonderful care to our cat while we were away. We appreciated getting such detailed notes and photo updates throughout our trip. We would gladly recommend to anyone looking for a thoughtful pet sitter!
Sydney took such loving care of our kitty and provided detailed updates and photos— I can’t recommend her enough!!
Sydney was on time with picking Rupert up and provided us with a recap on how the walk went. Rupert tends to be on the shy side but was happy to walk with her right off the bat.
Sydney is absolutely lovely. She is so kind and helpful when it comes to helping my girl Mabel stay calm. She is very attentive with dogs and I would love to keep booking her regularly!

I have a young working dog who I am self training in search, rescue, tracking, guarding, service and therapy. My cat thinks he is a dog and loves to travel on car rides and to go camping with me. I have my diploma in animal sciences and behaviour. A dog fight or serious injury has never occurred while in my care. I used to work at a veterinary hospital where I learnt a lot, especially when it comes to emergency situations and how to properly treat and care for injury and accidents. I also have a background working at a doggy daycare and horse barns. Currently now retired from farrier/blacksmithing and journey welder, I have been doing full time and part time work with dog walking and pet care in Alberta and Northern BC for the past 12+ years, while on disability. Please note for safety and training purposes, dogs will always be on leash and will never interact with other animals while in my care or on walks with myself. All cats in my care will stay indoors during the entire duration of my visit. There will be very few exceptions to these rules that I have set in place for myself. Safety is first, fun comes second!
Information Sydney M. would like to know about your pet
There are very few limitations when it comes to caring for your fur babies. I have experience working and assisting pets from all walks of life, including rescued, disabled, anxious, aggressive, medicated, and past-abused pooches. I have performed CPR in emergency situations and have given subcutaneous injections. I also know how to dress injuries and other ailments. I am confident and understand most, if not all animals. I have a long standing reputation as an animal whisperer/communicator, as I am usually able to connect with each and every animal on their level, or on a level that they need. Please let me know of any food allergies, specific commands, health needs and triggers that I may need to know about your dog and/or other pets. This is to ensure the best care possible. Thank you!
A typical day
I am a fairly active person. I am on disability and have been able to make private dog walking and pet care a permanent gig. My dog is even more active than I am, so we go on lots of walks and adventures. I love hiking and exploring nature and so do the dogs I walk. I am used to living in remote country with harsh weather conditions - rain, snow or shine, we are outside in nature! All private walks often take place in the neighbourhood of the client, unless requested otherwise. I love looking for the nature spots in your area. This gives every dog the chance to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of mother nature!
