As a pet sitter and dog lover I am very attentive to any pets needs. I love to stay active so the more walks the better. Hopefully my experience shows that: Took care of roommates chocolate lab puppy (3 months to 9 months). Took him on potty breaks when he stood by the door and on walks early in the morning, 2-3 times in the day and right before bed. Would positively reinforce good behavior and would correct when he chewed on things he shouldn’t, charged at strangers, or tried to drag on the leash while walking. Have experience training him to roommates standards but would be comfortable doing the same with owner instruction. Played with him using his tug of war toys and balls etc. When roomie would travel I would care for him and provide meals and treats as instructed. When I would work on the couch he’d come over and cuddle next to me to get pet. I recently house/dog sat for a couple from my church. They’re dog was a little older, adult to senior age. I would let him out to their back yard and would throw the ball for him until he got tired and would want to stop, both early in the morning and right before bed. I gave him breakfast and dinner on schedule. I let him out 2 times in the day time and would throw the ball for him then too. I have taken care of previous roommates’ dog, Darbie. Took her on numerous walks throughout the day. Made sure she had food when appropriate and gave her many cuddles and pets when she would join me on the couch. I work from home full time. The times I would leave throughout the day would be to go to the cross-fit gym a block from home, generally only gone for an hour. And then Wednesdays and Sundays I would be away from home for 2 hours for church. I have a 2 story town home with an unfinished basement. I live in close proximity to a dog park and a number of park trails. Do not have a yard but community I live in has many people with dogs. If they were to stay with me I would allow them to be on the couch and my bed. They can stay in my room with me. There is a place for a dog bed on the first floor too to be in close proximity to my WFH station. If the owner does not allow their pet to be on their furniture I will accommodate and make sure to keep those habits while they are at my house. For the clients home, I will care for the dog in the way prescribed by the owner. In common spaces I will clean up after myself, doing dishes and taking the trash out before I go. Basically treat it as though it were my own home.
