As an avid animal lover, I've spent a majority of my life pursuing animal-related careers and being heavily involved in various animal hobbies. Currently, I am an undergraduate college student majoring in biology (pre-vet). I have knowledge on a variety of animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, horses, and many more) both through formal education and personal experience. While Rover is mainly focused to dogs and cats, please don't hesitate to inquire about my help if you have other animals. I am also athletic and highly energetic, and have no issues handling larger or high-energy dogs. My previous animal care-taking experiences include: -10+ years of dog ownership. My first dog ever was a border collie. Although now she is a mellow 12-year-old, she was a high-energy and intelligent pup that instilled a love of larger, more energetic and working dogs. I am familiar with all life-stages of dogs and comfortable working with puppies, adults, and seniors. -10+ years of dog training. I am a fan of giving dogs a purpose through training; most dogs want to please their owners and enjoy learning new tricks. My own dogs are highly motivated and intelligent, thus I trained them vigorously in obedience, as well as agility and more "fun" tricks. In the past we've even competed in AKC shows, although its been quite while since our last one! For longer stays, we can discuss training if you would like me to work with your dogs, either to teach them new tricks/basic commands (small fee applies) or just run them through already-taught commands to keep them stimulated. -15+ years caring for various animals, including rabbits, cats, dogs, and horses. -11+ years in Fallbrook 4-H, involved in projects such as small animal, dog, vet science, poultry, and countless others. -6+ years of horseback riding. I am also comfortable lunging, tacking up, grooming, feeding, and leading. English background (showjumping), but have been in a western saddle occasionally. -4+ years running a professional rabbitry (a business of showing rabbits) where I am responsible for the care and medical needs of over 20 rabbits. Through this I gained experience of administering medication, both orally and subcutaneously (injections). Rabbits were my first animal, and I have been raising them since the age of 3.
