Experienced, Passionate & Reliable

Pet care experience

I am a Sociology student studying at Quinnipiac University and am transferring to Eastern Connecticut State University in the Fall. I have a passion for brightening the days of each person (and pet!) that I meet. Due to my inner drive to care for animals it has always been a dream of mine to work with them on a professional scale. I believe I have the experience, dedication, motivation and a gentle manner that will ensure that each animal will be safe, comfortable, and happy under my care. I am highly knowledgable in regards to caring for dogs and cats as I have had them as pets for my whole life. I currently have a Boston Terrier, but in the past, my family has rescued larger dogs such as an Old English Bull Dog and a Pitbull Lab mix. While caring for these dogs I learned how to safely walk large breeds, how to respond appropriately in dangerous situations, and the proper use of a harness and collar. I am now extremely comfortable working with any breed or sized dog. I have administered medication to my Boston Terrier and 2 of my cats, and am confident in my ability to do so for others. I have been walking dogs for clients on Wag! for a few months and I currently maintain a 5-star rating. Owners often praise the "extra care" given to their dogs. I have walked many different breeds of dogs with a plethora of personality types and behaviors. I consistently communicate with owners regarding how the walk went and to ensure I am giving each individual dog the personalized care they require. In the past, I have worked for a Daycare facility and gained beneficial skills that will be implemented into not only childcare but pet sitting or walking as well. I believe that the care I gave to the children and their families will translate to this position as a dog walker and sitter. These skills are w helpful but I believe that my genuine passion for animals is what makes me great at my job. There is nothing more rewarding than hearing you gave peace of mind to an owner knowing that their beloved pet is getting the physical activity they need to be happy and healthy!

Sydney is an amazing soul! I truly believe she has a better connection with canines than people! She spends her time researching how to train and socialize dogs. She is a mom to a 4 year old Boston Terrier who absolutely adores her. I whole heartedly recommend Sydney to care for anyone’s pet. She will take the time to get to know your furr baby and and help you in any way she can to train and love them!

About Sydney G.

Skills

5 years of experience
Oral medication administration
Senior dog experience
Can provide daily exercise

Safety, trust & environment

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide services in my own home. I have a dog and 2 cats that are very reluctant to new animals but I am more than happy to provide overnight or day sittings in a clients home.

Information Sydney G. would like to know about your pet

I would love to know if they have any unique habits or behaviors that would be good for me to know. It's also important for me to understand what makes your pup happy and things they would not enjoy. I believe each dog is different and have their own likes and dislikes just like humans! I do not have a preference for breeds as I have had a pit bull and an Old English bulldog. Some may be afraid of these dogs due to the negative stigma, but as long as they are not aggressive around people or other animals, I am happy to care for them!

A typical day

We can go on walks anywhere that the pup prefers! Id love to give them some physical activity such as playing fetch or tug of war with their favorite toy! I can even take them jogging, hiking, or to a nearby park if wanted! If they aren't too keen on lots of exercise I can certainly just give them all the cuddles and love after a nice walk! I'll be sure to send frequent pictures throughout the day!
