Zookeeper care for your pets!
Pet care experience
I have been a zoo keeper for over 10 years before moving to the Cement City area in 2022 to start a nature-based bed and breakfast with my husband, who also has farm and exotic animal experience. I am knowledgable about the care of a variety of pet and farm species and positive reinforcement animal training and I am very willing to help pet owners learn how to train their dogs or other pets at home. For certification, I have my Certificate in Behavioral Husbandry by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums which focuses on animal welfare, behavior, and training. I am comfortable with big dogs, older dogs with needs, and puppies, and if you have a breed that people are not sure of, please let me care for your dog! I love all animals, domestic and exotic, and have the knowledge needed to work safely with them.
Reviews
Sydney was very professional and I was completely comfortable in leaving my pets in her care. She was especially gentle and loving to my 15 year old pup who is blind and partially deaf. And got my lab playing with toys which she never does. The lab was very happy to have her interact with her.
Excellent sitter! We were anxious about using this service, but Sydney did an amazing job and put us at ease. She house sat and watched our 6 pets (cats & dogs) for 2 nights and was very responsive, helpful, prompt, kind, and anything other good thing you can think of! She sent us several pictures to let us know all of the pets were doing well and were happy. 10/10 recommend!
We left 5 pets in Sydney's care for a week while we're out of the country . I never had a worry, Sydney takes such great care of them and creates an atmosphere for the animals like I was not gone . We will definetly reach out to her again. I cannot thank her enough ??♥️
Sydney is wonderful with my dog. Flexible, caring, and professional. You can tell she has a great passion for what she does and I would recommend her to anyone.

I think it's important that animals stay with the routines that work best for them, whether it's for eating, sleeping, or playing and exercise. After being a zoo keeper for so long, I've learned to be aware of my animals, their welfare, and making sure their surroundings are safe and secure.
Information Sydney F. would like to know about your pet
I love big dogs especially and have experience being around large animals. But I love all sizes (one of my own dogs is on the small side). I like to know beforehand what activity level a dog has and what he/she enjoys doing. My background is in animal training and it is always a huge interest of mine when I am around animals. So what kind of training does your dog have and is there anything your dog does that you don't like (such as rushing the front door when it opens)? Maybe I can help come up with some solutions!
A typical day
Ensuring pets stay active, no matter the species, is importantI think walks are a great way to exercise, explore the world, and work on fun and positive behavior training. It's especially great for my dogs and the ones I watch to spend time at local parks and other fun dog friendly areas to visit. Play time at home is also a great bonding time for me and the dogs, whether it's in a yard or just around the house. Often exercise is the key to having a calmer, more relaxed dog when in the house.
