I enjoy being around animals, especially dogs. The happiness in their faces is contagious! I’m friendly and love to socialize, and I’ve always felt compelled to provide a home for pups in need. In fact, nothing brings me more joy. My backyard is a pup paradise, with a pup pool for summer splashing and a large, fenced area for running and roaming. It also faces a nature preserve where you can see deer grazing all day long. Buddy, my dog, loves to chase cars along the fence. We also enjoy going for car rides, taking walks, or relaxing around the house. I love all breeds of dogs. I’ve owned several throughout my life, from big dogs like a German Shepherd down to a little Dachshund. Most have come to me from shelters; Buddy was homeless before I found him. I’ve also had a dog with allergies, medication requirements--including shots--and special dietary needs, so I know how to look after dogs with health concerns. Plus, there are no stairs inside my home, so older or arthritic dogs will feel completely comfortable! I love playing cards, listening to music, and playing with my grandkids and Buddy at the park. I’ve spent my life working with people with mental disabilities, both in schools and in my home. My daughter and her kids like to visit; she has worked at a boarding facility, fostered pups, and has two medium-sized dogs of her own. I’m flexible, friendly, and sincere. My calm demeanor and ability to empathize with pups helps me keep them calm, and provide great support for separation anxiety, behavioral issues, and other concerns. It’s important to me that both you and your pup feel confident and comfortable about the stay; I will always put your needs ahead of my own and follow your guidance carefully.
