Pet care experience
My dedication and proficiency in learning new skills has led to caring for various unique animals and gaining hands-on knowledge. I am willing to care for any animals you need, just reach out! I have experience with dogs, cats, rats, bunnies, guinea pigs, snakes, geckos, fish, chickens, pigs, cows, ducks, and turkeys of various ages. I also have cared for dogs/cats that are blind, deaf, and seizure prone, along with knowing first aid basics for dogs and cats. I'm self-motivated and reliable, taking care of my family's cats from a young age, along with my rat I got at 8 years old. I also cared for my siblings' guinea pigs and snake. My kitty Sweety was adopted for me at the age of 11 and I have taken incredible care of her over the past 12 years. I have volunteered at various rescues and have also fostered multiple cats, including a litter of five 4 week old kittens. I have taken care of countless neighbor's animals while growing up and continue to do so. Over the past 3 years while attending university, I have been assisting with mushing kennels in the area ranging from 10-70 dogs; through hard work and consistency, I became entrusted to care for and train dogs at these kennels, participating in multiple mushing races. I have assisted numerous mushers with their dogs at events and have learned a lot from them, along with veterinarians that attend, becoming educated on dog's health. I have assisted in raising multiple litters and took in a runt puppy temporarily when he required bottle feeding due to his mother's milk drying up and him not being ready to transition to dry food yet. This experience also resulted in befriending a service dog trainer, who has helped me learn how to apply different training techniques to both dogs and cats. This is only a glimpse into my experiences taking exceptional care of animals. I look forward to continuing to learn more and help others. I always take the opportunity to get to know animals, tending to bond with them quickly. I would love to get to know you and your pets if you give me the chance!

Suz was very good and accommodating with our recent pet sitting needs. When we went to pick our girl up they were at the dog park. She also had an opportunity to find another furry friend which she thoroughly enjoyed. It is evident how much Suz enjoys the company of pets. Thank you!
Suz was great!! She fed our two young dogs and took them for a walk while we were out visiting a National Park. We were so thankful she could help take care of our dogs while we were out!

When caring for client's pets, my first priority is safety. I make sure my client and I have contact information for each other and any additional contacts for emergencies. I make note of their preferred veterinarian and any concerns they might have. I also prefer a meet and greet to get to know each other and the animal(s). Then I have the owner walk me through their care routine and ask questions. Once I know the tasks for the job, I see if there is anything else I can do to make my client feel more comfortable. This includes providing updates, pictures, and anything else needed for them to know their pet(s) are in good hands. I take constructive criticism well and look forward to providing the best services I can!

Before meeting a pet I like to know of any special needs; do they require medication and if so when? Should I be aware of a condition they have or an injury they are recovering from? I also ask about their usual behavior, so I can tell if anything is out of the ordinary. Lastly I like knowing their reaction to people and other animals, along with the preferred way to respond, so I know what to expect to create a smooth introduction and for walks.
A typical day
Typical fun activities I do with dogs I watch are play games, go for walks, and practice things they have learned or assist in their learning of new skills. I personally like walking around parks, neighborhoods, and on hiking trails. If they enjoy other dogs, I have a few friends whose dogs love to meet new friends to play with. I also shower them with affection and cuddles. Some animals prefer their space, so we enjoy each other's company.

Availability
I currently have a very open and flexible schedule. In the fall I will be a full-time student with classes throughout the day Monday through Friday, but my schedule will still be pretty easy to adapt to an animal's needs.
