Pet care experience
Rain or shine, I love going for walks with my crew! Between my two kids and two dogs I’m always on the puppy/ kiddo care mindset. I have loved dogs for a lifetime and I have been working with and training dogs (not professionally) for 25+years. I have been walking dogs on Nantucket since the beginning of last summer & it has been so fun! I have loved getting to know so many different dog personalities, it has truly been lovely. I personally have an old dachshund and a 2 year old retriever. Please let me know if you would like to meet for a meet and greet!

Susie watched our two pups back to back nights while we were away at dinner - she was so accommodating and took such great care of them, providing us regular updates with photos!
Susie is an absolute lifesaver. She pulled through with a very last minute request to walk our dog on a Saturday night when our other walker cancelled on us last minute. She was communicative, punctual and so tentative to our pup’s needs ahead of and during their walk. When I recollected our cavvie Bo from her at the end of their walk, they were cuddling on a bench together. Bo clearly had an amazing time with Susie and we would book with her again in a heartbeat (though hopefully with more notice next time!).

I will definitely let you know ahead of time, but sometimes I may need to walk your dog with one or both of my kids (5&7) in a pack. My husbands job is unpredictable at times and school is always closing for one thing or another. 🤗
Information Susie S. would like to know about your pet
I’m very flexible, so please feel free to let me know any little quirk that your dog needs to feel confident/ successful on walks. You can also let me know how long you would like the walk to be. I have a senior dog who shouldn’t be walked very long so I totally understand that some dogs/ breeds require more or less exercise or exertion. I can make up quality time with the dog in other ways. Im also mindful of how important it can be to keep your dog/ 100% clean or washed after muddy/ sandy walks. Just let me know what works best for you!
A typical day
I enjoy going for walks and exploring the neighborhood as well as exploring trails such as squam swamp (my favorite). I live in Sconset so I have more flexibility on that side of the island. I also have the ability to transport dogs safely in my SUV if desired. I’m totally cool with spending extra time with the dogs especially for the ones that require shorter walks. Quality time for me looks like cuddles, working on commands, playing fetch- maybe some beach or swimming at a pond or pool and supervised bone/ chewy time.

I am super flexible. I’m typically a teacher who has been really enjoying staying home with my kids and dogs the last few years! I’m hoping to get back into teaching again one day, but in the mean time I love spending my time just hanging out at home & getting some fresh air and exercise!
