Pet care experience
Around here, dogs are part of the family. We (my spouse Matt and I) have had them our entire lives, from childhood to the present, and we LOVE hanging out with dogs. Now, hosting is working out great for us, our dog & cats, and our new dog friends! In addition to building a connection with our dog guests, we have attended doggy training classes and further our dog-specific education in areas like behavior, emotions, care & first aid. We make sure that your dog gets settled and has a fun, peaceful time with us. Our goal is to reduce the stress and anxiety that your dog and you may feel while you're separated from each other.
Reviews
We continue to count on Suzie to care for our dog… she is the best! Our dog just loves it. We bring our dog to her often, and it’s so nice knowing that he’s cared for so well.
Susie was so warm, friendly and a great communicator. She asked great questions during our meet and greet and we felt super comfortable leaving Arlo with her. Will definitely use her again!
We bring our dog to Suzie regularly and couldn't be happier!
Very communicative throughout the stay! Thank you for everything!

When we have the pleasure of taking care of your dog, I focus on building a strong connection with them, providing consistency, reassurance, brushing, playing, and abundant snuggles. Matt particularly loves bonding with dogs on walks and runs - especially around the river and Minnehaha Falls. Our resident dog, Sammy, likes to play and chill and our cat(s) may also hang out with us. This means our home is functional and dog-friendly and we have a fully fenced-in backyard. We have 3 steps up to the front door and 3 steps going down from the deck to the backyard. We reduce stress during meal times by giving dogs their own space. If needed, we have XL dog crate(s) and we can talk about how your dog may be most comfortable during the stay. It is possible your dog may have an overlapping stay with a couple other dogs’ stay. So we work hard to keep everyone safe, happy, peaceful and comfortable - from first sniff onwards. If you think you’d like your dog to stay with me, please reach out. Once we connect, we can set up a meet and greet and I will no doubt ask further questions about your dog. If we are a good fit, we can book your dog's stay. After that - rebooking is easy!

Information Susie C. would like to know about your pet
**I would love to know more about your dog:** What lights your dog up? What does your dog dislike? What is their energy level? Do they play with/get along with other dogs? Feeding Instructions / What should we expect them to eat? Where would they likely want to sleep? Has your dog been around cats? Has your dog done Rover before? What made you choose our profile?
A typical day
We usually wake up early, go outside, eat breakfast, play a little bit, and sometimes get some chewing in. On weekdays, the humans work from home while the pets provide moral support nearby, usually in the form of snoozing - if anything is needed, your dog has access to it. On the weekends, we like to spend quality time with each other. We’ll play outside in our fully fenced backyard, lounge around inside, practice commands (sit, stay, etc.), do tricks, have fun with enrichment puzzles & snuffle mats, and take lots of pics. We may walk along the river, in our neighborhood, and around Minnehaha Falls. We take walks or runs almost daily, usually in the afternoons. Then, we wrap up the day with supper, more playing or puzzles, snuggles, chewing, and a movie or TV before bed (let us know if your dog needs to catch up on a show!). When it’s time for bed, we all go to sleep in our chosen places where we feel most comfortable - be it the bed/bedroom, couches, floor, or even in an XL wire crate.

Availability
Our days follow a natural rhythm that lets our guests learn the routine and feel at home fairly quickly. We go through our days together but there is room in our house for everyone to have their own space. While I won’t quite spam you with pics, I would love to send you several while your pup stays with us. We like to say, 'We work (from home) to live and live to be with dogs'. Adding another dog or 2 to the group fits in great. Our 6-year-old beagle mix will be there to show our guest(s) the ropes. We also have 2 cats! We have a set-up such that they may choose to never see your dog or if everyone vibes well together, the cats will go on living their cat lives around us. We may go on walks, play, or lounge around outside in our big fenced backyard and inside in our living area on our mega-couch. We especially like to do enrichment activities like basic commands, puzzles, snuffle mats, and tricks. Of course, we take a LOT of naps and will (hopefully) cuddle a ton.
