Pet care experience
I am a licensed veterinary technician and have been a contract vet tech for the city animal shelter since 2017. I work part-time as a patient care technician (at a human hospital) and would love to pet-sit for your animal family with my spare time. I worked for an animal hospital and their attached boarding facility for 3 years, which gave me essential experience in taking care of a variety of animals. I have cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, mice, etc - and would be willing to care for any member of your animal family! I have solid experience with shy/nervous animals and am accustomed to taking my time in establishing a connection so we can best work together. I can give medications, baths, and trim nails and am able to care for senior animals with health/mobility concerns comfortably.

I have an anxious dog who often refuses to pee for petsitters during drop in visits, but Susannah worked with her and she did pee (Susannah send me video!).

Dogs that are comfortable around cats are welcome into the home (the cats we have tend to hide, but have been around dogs many times). Otherwise, I can come to your house to walk the dogs/stay the night. I would love to care for cats as well, and can visit them during the day/spend the night if desired. Dogs at my house will be walked on leash around the yard/block and can be crated while we are gone if that is their routine. They are allowed on the furniture, but the partner has set a no-animal zone with the bed in the master bedroom (even with our own pets). Dogs are welcome to bring their own beds if they want to stay in the bedroom at night!

A typical day
I live in Henrietta and have many areas and parks to walk dogs locally. I provide enrichment of all kinds to all animals, starting with toys of course! I also have slow feeders, puzzles/games (for dogs and cats!), and things like cat grass, catnip, and laser toys for playful kitties/cats.

Availability
I work part-time as a patient care technician, but the days are randomized and include every other weekend and 12 hour shifts. If caring for cats, I could visit before/after work on those days; if caring for dogs, I could take them out on my lunch break as I live close to work.
