Clinical Social Worker/Pet Lover!

Pet care experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at a local children's hospital. My fiancé and I are saving up to buy a house and I'm looking for a fun way to make some extra pocket money! I absolutely love dogs and have been taking care of them for 10 years. Often that has meant dog-walking or house-sitting while taking care of others' dogs. Before I went to graduate school several years ago, I stayed in a family's home for a month and a half taking care of their very energetic 1-year-old golden retriever while they were on vacation. I have experience administering medications; for example, I have taken care of a blind dog who also required insulin shots. I have experience cat-sitting as well. I cannot wait to have a dog of my own - waiting on the house! I am 32-years-old and a responsible, trustworthy and compassionate adult who loves animals. I also like to be very active (I try to walk 5 miles/day in addition to other forms of exercise), so I'm happy to have the chance to walk your dog! Thank you for considering me! PS - I have had both doses of the COVID vaccine!

Susannah is kind, thoughtful, responsible, and great with pets! I have known her for nearly 15 years and she is an all-around awesome person. Nick has worked with dogs for years, and knows many tricks to soothe them, from pet massage to fun games. I would trust them with anything. Good people!

Susannah and Nick are wonderful with pets! Each of them is energetic, loving, and in tune with what an animal needs. I have personally known several families for whom Susannah has dog-sat, and she comes highly recommended as a reliable, responsible, and friendly presence in the house.

Susannah was our human children's sitter for several years. She is one of the warmest, most caring and wonderful people we've known! While sitting the kids, she also kept our old dogs company. She was great at handling them, and seemed to have a definite comfort level with animals. We would trust her with our fur babies in a heartbeat!

Susannah spent many weekends and vacations in our home with our large, lovable yet not always obedient black lab. She was always loving with Mac and careful of limitation that he had because of some of his behaviors. We never worried about him when he was with Susannah. The day she moved from our area was a sad day for us and for our dog.. She is a wonderful, responsible, trustworthy and delightful young woman who we would leave with any of our pets or grandchildren. I can’t recommend her more highly.

We are renting our own house in a wooded area in a safe neighborhood. Lots of space to go for walks and runs! We have a large yard with lots of trees (not fenced in). My fiancé used to manage a doggie daycare (he now owns his own (different) business). He is very good with animals - very instinctual - and I have learned a lot about dogs from him!

A typical day

We moved here from the Boston area in the fall of 2019. One major reason why we moved to this area was because of its proximity to nature. There are so many wonderful parks and trails around here - and plenty that are dog friendly! I like the Gold Park Dog Park in Hillsborough. I'm active, flexible and able to meet any dog where he/she is at energy-wise!

I work full-time as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at a local children's hospital. Because of the pandemic, some days I work from home and some days I go into the hospital. However, I practice COVID-safe behavior (i.e. social distancing, washing hands, wearing a mask) and have already received the COVID vaccine. However, I am available most evenings and weekends.
