Dogs, cats and birds, oh my! <3
Pet care experience
I've taken care of dogs, cats, birds and horses for most of my life. For the past eight years I've had intensive dog training, after we added a stubborn yet sensitive Wheaten terrier puppy to the family. I've taken classes at Paws4Training, Ahimsa and the Zoom Room, as well as working with individual trainers, and have learned SO much about how to relate to dogs. Last year I even learned how to bathe and groom my dog, so I could give him a calmer and more comfortable experience at home. Our family currently includes our Wheaten, two 16-year-old cats and 10(!) rescued parakeets/budgies. I grew up in the Seattle area and, after spending much of my adult life abroad, was ecstatic to return in 2008. I’ve lived in Upper Fremont for 13 years and absolutely love our neighborhood (you may have interacted with me already, actually, because I'm active in the Wallingford & Fremont Community Group on Facebook and am an admin for the Upper Fremont Buy Nothing Group).
Reviews
We had Susanna watch our two kitties again, and appreciated her detailed reports. She even brought over a new toy for them! It's really great to have a sitter that we know will take good care of our two boys.
We had Susanna take care of our two cats while we were gone for the weekend. Susanna was easy to communicate with, sent pictures and updates during her visits, and even spent 30 extra minutes with our cats during one of the visits. We're happy to have a cat sitter we trust, and will definitely book her again when we travel in the future!
Susanna is so thoughtful with my cat and home! She goes out of her way to spend extra time with Kona, who loves humans, which makes me feel better about leaving her. Great communication and great kindness.
Susanna went above and beyond to take care of my cat Kona, spending extra time with her and even bringing her a new toy to play with. Amazing!

Safety, trust & environment
I view your pets and your home as an extension of mine, where love, care, safety and cleanliness are super important. I understand that every pet has its own delightful habits and quirks, and I'll seek to understand them and to make your fur babies as comfortable and happy as possible while you're apart.
Information Susanna R. would like to know about your pet
I'd love to know which commands your pup responds to, any preferences they may have, places they love or would do best to avoid, and anything else that will help me provide a safe and loving experience for your beloved pet.
A typical day
I enjoy accompanying dogs on walks around our neighborhood, letting them catch up on their “pee-mail” while stretching their legs and enjoying a change of scenery. Sniffing and mental stimulation are just as important as exercise, so I’m happy to let them set the pace based on their energy level each day — it’s their walk, after all, not mine.
