I met Susan many years ago through a group of professionals. Not only is she a fabulous person, who has become a good friend over the years, but we now have dozens of friends in common who love her, and always request her house sitting or pet sitting services whenever the need arises. We live in Port Townsend, a relatively small town, where Susan’s reputation is impeccable. Formerly the property manager for the Port of Port Angeles, she is quite capable of taking care of your household while you are away. Susan was raised with a strong work ethic. She is considerate, keeps a clean house, and is very respectful of other people, their property, and their animals. She is a huge animal lover. She will spend lots of quality time with your pet, and will probably have them a bit better trained, by the time you get home. She loves teaching animals tricks, too! You could not find a more responsible, loving, person to stay with your pets, or to take care of your home.

My German shepherd just loves loves loves Susan. The minute Susan walks in the door, the shy dog starts a soft cry/talking until Susan pets her. This is behavior only reserved for me and close friends she has not seen in a while. Susan has such an affinity for animals. I will have her back each time I need a sitter.

I met Susan in 2013 as the exceptionally efficient and effective manager of the compound in which I lived. I am now fortunate to count her as a friend. Susan is one of the most respectful, reliable, kind, and sincere people I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. I have entrusted my home and my dog(s) to Susan in the past, and I look forward to doing so in the future.

Routine is so important for all animals. I will ask you to detail your pets' schedule and expectations so I can create as comfortable a transition for them as possible. I'm very sensitive to changes in animal behavior and when they may not be doing well physically or emotionally. Animals are a heart-deep passion of mine. I connect easily with animals and have loved and helped animals for decades. I was always the one that couldn't wait to walk, brush, and/or play with a neighbor’s or friend’s dog if their pet mom or dad was under the weather or just plain too busy. Even scaredy-cats almost always crawl into my lap soon after I arrive! Pets are pure love. In Germany, I was Auntie Susan to a Border Collie and Bernese Mountain dog mix whose Dad just didn’t have the time to fully care for him. I’m also a Reiki Master and animals recognize and soak up the healing energy of Reiki. Please know that having done several home renovations, I am very familiar with home systems and I'm also a professional gardener. I can take good care of your property, inside and out.

Information Susan S. would like to know about your pet

I've cared for very old cats and dogs in all states of health and many breeds, so special medical needs don't scare me. However, the pet should be moderately ambulatory with medical conditions under control.

A typical day

The beach, THE BEACH! And the ball, THE BALL! Walkies are wonderful but if it is allowed to be off leash...FUN! Also, I love doing trick training with pups and they love it, too. Kitty-play is equally important and essential, cat willing, to boost your cat's mood, especially if they are unsure, afraid and/or missing you. Cat or dog, incorporating play helps me bond and build trust more quickly with your fur-babies.
