I have pet sat for a couple I know in Miami several times. They have 2 Ridgeback mixes. These dogs weigh 110 lbs and 30 lbs. They are high energy dogs that required a lot of exercise and attention. They were well trained dogs so although they required a lot of mental stimulation they walk fairly well on a leash and obey my commands. I got the opportunity to get to know them quite well before I sat for them which was good because they are territorial dogs. I have also had cats all my life. My one cat was diabetic so I learned to give him insulin shots twice a day. I love animals and I realize that when their primary care takers are gone they become stressed. I try to minimize that stress so that upon the owners return, the owner will feel that there is a smooth transition and that the animals were well taken care of.
