When setting up our stay, Susan agreed to do a meet and greet, but tried to back out beforehand because she said our dog wasn’t neutered. He is - she had confused us with another client, but I should have taken it as a sign. We discussed the schedule, and I included the schedule in our profile in the app, but she didn’t follow it. Not even close. We had requested a morning walk - around 8 or 9 am. She didn’t even arrive to our house until after 12 pm each day. She ate food out of our pantry and fridge, left greasy/cheesy crumbs and fingerprints everywhere, and left trash out that our dog got a hold of. Our dog’s water bowl was bone dry and my husband spent his first hour back in town cleaning up after her. When I brought it up to her, she was apologetic at first, but quickly tried to blame me for not telling her the schedule or that she wasn’t allowed to eat in the couch. She said it was unfair that my husband returned earlier than expected, but if she had been following our set schedule, she would have already come to the house that morning and would have seen my message, giving her time to clean up after herself. I didn’t think I had to reiterate a schedule she had already agreed to or directly instruct an adult to not eat other people’s food and leave a mess in their home.
