Pet care experience
We have had furry children of all kinds for most of our marriage, and we love taking care of our guest pups! Our mini-labradoodle Pippa is a loving, energetic girl who loves every kind of dog, big or small, and makes a great playmate. Susan works from home, and Hal is retired — so your dog will never feel abandoned. We have been through training courses and will give your dog as many boundaries as you ask us to (for instance, we're fine with dogs on furniture, but if you'd rather yours didn't learn that habit we totally understand and support that). Our goal is to treat your dog exactly as you would. Our house is just 15 minutes from PDX in a great walkable, dog-friendly neighborhood. We look forward to taking care of your furry child. Thanks!

The best ever!! I couldn’t imagine anyone else watching our dog besides Susan & Hal. Very communicative throughout the whole process and loved receiving updates. Very accommodating to our dogs needs and just overall fantastic experience!!
Finn really enjoyed his stay with Susan & Hal. They have a lovely back yard for him to relax in. Pippa was welcoming and willing to share her special chairs and beds. Finn is a bit clingy(Ha!) and Susan was especially tolerant of his need to always be by her side. I’m glad I found a place Finn(and I) are comfortable with. Thank you!

We would like to know if your dog has any health issues before we agree to take care of them, especially any that cause incontinence. We have no breed preference.
A typical day
Walks in a beautiful, tree-lined, established neighborhood, with lots of dog-friendly people around. Fenced backyard is great for running around, and there are no poisonous plants. We love to get on the floor and play with pull toys and balls. Bring it on!

Susan is a freelance graphic designer and works from home -- so dog sitting is an easy accompaniment to her day. Hal is a retired teacher.
