Pet care experience
I've owned and taken care of dogs for over 50 years. I have been dogsitting for the past 5 years, and prior to that have sat for friends. I have much experience with training, administering meds, caring for dogs of many kinds from puppies to seniors, tiny dogs to giant dogs. I have been involved in dog rescue for the past 20 years with a group that rescues Golden Retrievers, and my last 4 dogs have been goldens or golden mixes. I love all dogs and would adopt them all if I could. I recently had to put down my last dog and have decided now that I will be trying to live on social security not to get another dog. I don't want to own a dog unless I have the financial resources to provide them with the very best of everything, and take them to the vet when they get sick. I decided that dog sitting would be a perfect way to keep dogs in my life. I know how important it was to me to have a reliable, competent and loving person to care for my dogs when needed. I would love to be that person for you.
Reviews
I can’t say enough that Susan was such a great sitter for Betty! She had great communication through the app. Flexible with pick up and drop off. She took care of our girl with such love and care, we were so relieved to have someone who cared for her as if Betty was her own dog.
My dogs are a handful and she did great with them. She kept us updated on how they were doing. We felt confident they were in good hands and didn’t have to worry while we are away. We highly recommend Susan for anyone needing a dog sitter! We will definitely be using Susan in for our future trips.
Susan was awesome with Sarge and he seemed really happy when he came home.
Susan is amazing with Bowie! She is so loving, and is a true doggie lover! Your dog is always in good hands with Susan!

I live in a medium sized home with a large backyard. I am very well versed in dog behaviors, having fostered and worked with rescue dogs, as well as having owned many dogs of varying breeds in my lifetime. I have experience with very large dogs having owned a 165# golden/great pyrenees mix. I am confident I would be able to handle your dog's day to day needs as well as any emergencies that might arise. I live just 3 blocks from my vet (GREAT vet - Rock Road Animal Hospital).

Allergies & medications. Do they get along with other dogs? (My neighbor's dog loves to play with other dogs). What are your rules about feeding treats or snacks?
A typical day
I will play with your dog in my large back yard; play fetch with balls, or tug-of-war with toys/ropes. I am unable to walk dogs as I have some back issues that prevent me from walking long distances, but the dogs get a lot of exercise in the back yard.

I now work part-time and work from home so I'm home all day most days. My schedule is quite flexible as I am self-employed as a psychotherapist. I am available to come and stay in your home, or I can keep the dog in my home. I have a large, fully fenced backyard. I would treat your pet just as if it were my own. Dogs are allowed on my furniture, and on my bed, but if you have stricter rules, I would of course follow your rules regarding dog behavior.
