Hi, I'm retired, and want to enjoy taking care of your canine and feline friends - it's my happy place! I was raised with pets (cats, dogs, rats, gerbils, hamsters and snakes), and as an adult, have always had at least one cat, and for the last 4 years, am enjoying life with my rescued rat terrier, Venus. Little Venus has some anxiety around other dogs, which is why my services are whatever you need (except boarding at my house). My dog experiences have been mainly with large dogs including Irish setter, labs and Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, though a few small breeds have won my heart, too. Family cats have ranged from tamed feral cats to kittens born in my bed (thats another story!). Every pet has it's own personality, and is gregarious or shy -- I'd like to meet your pet so you're confident they will be comfortable with me. I am consistently kind and reliable. Give me a try!

Susan is awesome!!! She is super friendly, reliable, and responds quickly. She was able to look after my cat last minute and provided detailed updates/pictures every day I was gone. She definitely made me feel better about leaving my cat for a few days. I would recommend her to anyone!
Susan was a great help while we were away for the holidays! Our dog warmed to her immediately at the meet and greet and we rested easy knowing she was well taken care of. Susan even helped shovel our sidewalk while we were away, which certainly wasn’t expected, but much appreciated. She went above and beyond!

I'd like to know any special things like your favored way of walking, do you want your dog to walk on your left or is free to wander around while leashed? Best play games? How doggie interacts with other dogs while on walks, ie anxious so should avoid other dogs, or very social? Are treats used for reinforcement? Any particular behaviors being encouraged or discouraged?
A typical day
I will make visits fun with games, interaction, and whatever running in your yard or walking outdoors you recommend. I prefer dog-friendly trails if any are nearby because of so many good smells for dogs, but any place you want walking is good for me. I'm happy to help dog don a coat or booties in cold weather. My car is not set up to transport dogs unless your carrier is no more than 25x18" lxw.

Availability
My schedule is wide open. I enjoy walks in all weather, on sidewalks, roadsides, and especially parks and trails if any dog-friendly trails are near your house or if you want me to drive your dog to a trail. My car isn't set up for driving your pet anywhere unless your crate can fit in my SUV.
