Hello! I am a retired STEM teacher (Science Technology Engineering Math). I have cared for friends' dogs in my home when my schedule permitted, and now that I'm retired I am ready to enjoy this new-found flexibility and freedom with more dogs. I live close to Battle Creek Off-leash Dog Park, and I take my dog, Tilly, there every morning for an hour. She loves it! In the afternoons I take her on a leash walk in the bluffs above my house or to a nearby park. She loves that, too. (She pretty much loves everything and everyone.) At home, she loves to loll in the sunshine in my family room, or curl up in her dog bed by the computer when I'm checking emails and reading the paper, etc. She has some toys that I get out for her to play with too, although she doesn't have access to them all the time because I like to supervise. I'm not a control freak...just being careful! At night she sleeps in her dog bed right next to my bed. She gets a treat at bedtime and right after her walks, but never any people food. I can accommodate most of your dog's specific requirements, other than sleeping on my bed. I've taken care of elderly dogs and youngsters too. I've taken care of a dog recovering from a broken leg, as well as a dog with terminal cancer who required daily meds, so I don't shy away from special circumstances. I will also send photos and videos of your dog while you're gone so you can see how much fun we have. One more note about pricing: if you drop your dog off before noon or pick your dog up after noon, I will add $10 to the $25/night charge on those days, since that adds a half-day to my schedule. (Daycare rate is $20/day)
