Hello! My name is Sunnie, and I look forward to caring for your fur-baby! I recently left my 7-year career as a wildlife biologist in FL to be closer to family. Prior to that, I worked in a small animal clinic for a year as a veterinary assistant, during which time I regularly pet sat for several clients. Currently I am at home full-time and available 7 days a week to care for your pets. Animal husbandry is part of my DNA. I grew up with dogs (and various other pets). Since 2006, I have been “mom” to my two pitties, Flex and Venus. Flex recently lost his battle with cancer at the age of 12; he was only 14 weeks when I got him. Venus is an old lady now, still going strong. Needless to say, I am well-versed in the care required for dogs of varying life stages. Combined with my experience in a veterinary practice, I am equipped to meet the unique needs of your pet(s). Whether your puppy needs potty breaks throughout the night, your high-energy adult needs daily runs, or your geriatric companion needs various medications/injections, I am up for the task. For clients interested in boarding: I live on 5.5 acres (~1.5 of which are dog-safe fenced) with my sister’s family. There are 5 children ranging from 4-13 years, a 2-yr old female boxer mix, 4 horses, 3 cats, 2 ducks, and chickens. Depending on your pet’s temperament, they can have as much or as little exposure to the menagerie as you are comfortable with- Venus and I live separate from the chaos in the guest house, and all of the children and critters can be contained as-needed. As a care giver, your pet’s safety & comfort, and your peace of mind are my highest priorities.
