Hi, Im Summyr. I live on the waters edge at Redondo Beach, Federal Way area with my husband, teenage daughter, spoiled beach dog and 2 goofy cats. We absolutely adore animals large and small. We lost our beloved Husky/Shepard after 14.5 years Oct 2014 and I decided that being a Rover sitter would help fill that void until we found our new love. We found our new love "Queso Bandido" part husky/aussie/shep almost a year later and have continued to welcome and enjoy Rover guest dogs . It has been perfect for our pup to be mentored by other dogs and learn some good manners, he has gets along with all dogs large and small. * I am lucky to have quite a few frequent repeat clients so you may not see updated reviews as they are here so often. I send photos directly so my photo score appears low but I love to send them and let clients see how happy and cared for their dogs are! I am a stay at home mom and online vacation rental manager so I have plenty of time to devote to the care of your pets. I would only be away from the house to run some brief errands (up to 2 hours). We live right on the water and have plenty of sandy beach to run and play on as well as a large grass yard. Your dog would be very comfy in the house with me after long walks on the beach. If your dog is a water dog, he or she will be in seventh heaven! I have always loved pets of all types since I can remember. Im proud to say all of my pets have been rescues. I have always grown up with dogs, cats, horses and a few small furry critters. We have also had a few pet ducks, geese and even a sea otter who used to visit! * We welcome dogs that are CAT FRIENDLY and dogs that are known to be respectful and curious of cats. * Since the biggest asset at our house is the play area of the beach. *Dogs MUST DO WELL OFF LEASH and come when called as they will enjoy long stretch of beach to run and fetch on. I have been taking care of friends pets for years and have worked as a vet assistant. I love to send your pictures and updates during their stay so you can feel re assured they are happy and safe. You would feel 100% confident that your dog would get doted on and receive loving care 24/7! Why I love dog sitting I have had pets my entire life. My first dog was a collie, who was a year old when I was born. My parents say I loved pets from the minute I was born, in fact I begged for an orange kitten instead of a sibling. I got the sibling but have since made up for not getting the orange kitten by having several special orange kitties in my life. Growing up we always had a dog and they lived very happy long lives. I have always been horse obsessed as well. As mentioned, we just lost our beloved 14.5 year old Shepard/Husky mix "Hula" who lived a very privileged life. Meet my pets In addition to Queso Bandido our husky mix pup, we have 2 cats that are very familiar with dogs coming and going. Our cats love to interact with dogs and often think they are one. Its natural for dogs to be curious about cats they don't live with but ours will let me know right off if there is a dog that they dont get along with. Its a cat thing! About my yard We have a large, grassy yard. Our yard is perfect for fetching balls, playing with toys or a quick potty! When the tide is out we have a huge sandy front yard! Our side yard is fenced and we have a dog door to the inside of the house. Dogs are not left unattended in the yard if we are out. My experience administering medication Yes! I have had some experience working as a vet. assistant and would feel comfortable giving meds as needed. Pilling cats is not easy but Im quite good at it!
