I have always been able to connect with animals on a different level than most. It started with stray animals as a kid, and I haven't stopped since! I was 10 when I started caring for abused and reactive German Shepherds. As a teen, I volunteered, and became employed, at my local Humane Society. There, I focused mainly on temperament testing, and caring for the reclusive and reactive animals. I also worked at a behavior-focused doggy daycare for 2 years where I worked with dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and temperments. I have administered medications every way except for IV and I have quite the experience with keeping a large group of dogs in peaceful cohabitation! It also means I have quite the experience in dealing with the...messier side of animal care so that's not an issue for me! I was also in college to become a Vet Tech, however I did not complete that program. I did complete about 2/3 of the program, so I was able to quite a bit of knowledge and experience with a variety of animal species! I have experience in caring for cats, dogs, rodents, some reptiles, birds, ferrets, pigs, goats, cows and horses to name some! I'm currently a stay at home mom, so caring for your pet will be my full time job! Tuesday through Friday I do need a days notice for booking so I can make sure I have plenty of time to give your fur baby the undivided attention it deserves! Saturday through Monday I will be able to accept same day bookings! The safety of your animals is top priority for me, so I will not be able to accept boarding in my home, but I will have no problem coming to your home multiple times a day, and making sure your animal has affection, care and exercise! If your yard is fenced in, I will still stand in the yard with your dog to ensure no escape plans end in success, and I will keep your dog on leash if there is no fence. Although I am not a certified dog trainer, I do have quite the experience in training. Leash training is a personal favorite of mine, but I have experience in other training areas as well! I am a serious and devoted full-time Cargiver! What this means for you and your pet is that you can expect for your fur babies to be cared for in my home, the same way they are loved and adored in yours! Walks will happen at least 2 times per day! I schedule the time of our walks based upon the outside temperature, and your pups specific Breed and Medical requirements! My daily schedule will be based around your pets specific needs, personality and typical schedule and routine as at home. I am a Balanced trainer, leaning closer to Positive Reinforcement/Force Free, so we can work together on any behavior concerns and training goals you have in mind! Any training that is done during a service is included in the service price! My yard is not fenced in, however I do have secured 30 ft. tethered leashes that were made for Large-Extra Large Power Breeds, so regardless of size they will be secure in my yard! All outside time is directly supervised by me, and I typically have my husband as an extra pair of eyes! All outside doors are locked at all times with a deadbolt to prevent any escapes. I have a 6.5 year old American Bulldog named Dory and a 6 year old Chihuahua Mix named Nugget and both will keep your pets company! Dory is a calmer girl who would love nothing more to cuddle up with your dog or cat on our couch! Nugget is our energetic little guy who is a master at playing tug, fetch, or chase with other dogs and will keep your pup active and having a grand ol' time! Both of my pups have their own crates, and I do crate dogs if I have to leave. Crating prevents your pup from getting injured, eating non-dog food items, escaping the house and other behavior concerns such as Separation Anxiety and certain Reactivity issues. If you need help crate training your pup, we'll do some crate training while they're here and I'll teach you how to incorporate that into your home routine free of charge!
