Pet care experience
I have many clients get in later than planned, that’s ok. It’s my goal to make sure your furry friend has a stress free and fun time! There’s no off limit areas in my home. Your dog will be part of our family. Whatever their rules and routine is at home, will be their routine with me. I’m home full time, and can accommodate walk schedules, feeding times, and lots of exercise. My kids love animals just like I do. So, there is plenty of love to go around. I’ve always been an animal lover. I have a lifetime of experience. I’ve volunteered at animal shelters and took a year of veterinary assistant courses. I have experience with all types of breeds, and I like dogs more than I like people! I have a flexible schedule and will accommodate whatever the clients schedule is at home. My main goal is to not interrupt their normal routine. I have an unfenced yard, but live by a park and trails. We can go on lots of walks, or quick potty breaks. My energy level will match your pups!

Summer was very responsive and helpful when it came to setting up a meet and greet with our husky. I even had the dates wrong on the booking by two days, but she was SUPER flexible about taking on an additional two days with my dog. Our husky is very high maintenance with a lot of exercise needs, a sensitive tummy, dog reactivity, and a door dashing tendency, and Summer was willing to take on all of that with a lot of positivity. There was an unfortunate incident where she allowed our dog to be near a family member's dog, and my dog injured the family member's dog. I was disappointed to hear about this, because we were very direct about our dog needing to be kept away from other dogs, but it was Christmas, so I can understand the impulse to bring the whole family (including fur babies) together. It led to a costly vet bill for us, and I'm sure a lot of worry and sadness for them. Summer is a great sitter and it's clear that she cared for my dog and that my dog was well looked-after. She brushed her regularly (it's our dog's shedding season) and even gave us the brush! If it weren't for the incident with the other dog, this would easily be a 5-star review. If your dog is not reactive to other dogs, you have absolutely nothing to worry about in leaving your pet with Summer. She will do a great job!

Summer is generally responsive, and kept me well posted during my pet's stay with her. She was attentive and inquisitive, and let me know about what caught her attention during the stay. However, we encountered some unfortunate hiccups. The most prominent issue was a lapse in communication from Summer precisely when we were due to pick up my pet, and we didn't hear from Summer for over 90 minutes after the pickup time on the itinerary. I believe this was an honest mistake, but it added a great deal of stress to our morning and is difficult to justify at a price point of $130 a night. There were a few smaller things, we found a few spots in my pet's fur where some sticky substance had gotten in and hardened which needed cleaning out, and she had diarrhea when walked after pickup which makes me concerned about her diet and/or stress levels during her stay. I have no doubt Summer cares about taking good care of the pets in her home, but I'm afraid the elevated price compared to other local options in light of our experience left me feeling disappointed.
