Dog sitter in Sudden Valley
Pet care experience
Hello, my name is Sue and I love dogs. I have one dog of my own, my buddy Barney, a 5-year-old cocker spaniel who is the most gentle and friendly pet I’ve ever known. I own a computer consulting company that I operate out of the home. This means I am home during the day, so your pet will have constant companionship. My first experience with Rover was as a client here in Bellingham. It was wonderful. Barney was taken on numerous walks during the day, was groomed, and I got daily text messages with pictures and updates, making me far more relaxed with the idea of being separated. Joyce, you’re wonderful! The next time I needed a dog sitter, I couldn’t find one available through Rover, so I ended up using a kennel. Barney spent the better part of each day locked in a cage surrounded by barking dogs and returned home with matted fur, fleas, and visibly stressed. This convinced me that Rover was the way to go for me and my little buddy. It also got me to thinking that it would be really nice if I could extend this service to others. While in my care, your pet will be loved on, played with, and exercised. Dogs add so much to the quality of life of their humans. I believe it is important to honor them in return. My services include: Daily walks Trips outside every 1-2 hours during the day Daily text messages or emails with photos and updates, if you desire Daytime and/or overnight stays About my home: I am fortunate to live in a beautiful 3-bedroom home in Sudden Valley. My back yard has a large 2-tier deck for lazing around, a gravel area with a fire pit, and also a grassy area. I have a large bay window and small front porch where we get to watch others on their daily walks. My home is surrounded by Douglas firs and cedar trees, making it a peaceful space. Deer are frequent and welcome visitors. The community has numerous nature and hiking trails and a dog park alongside Lake Whatcom. We like to explore them all during our lunchtime walks. Your pet will be invited to take part in all according to your wishes and their limitations. I have no breed preferences, but do look for a gentle disposition. I will ask for a brief history and any special instructions to help me better care for your pet. I ask that your pet be housebroken or crate-trained

We could not be happier with Sue and the loving care she gave our Basset Olivia. Highly recommend both Sue and Barney, we could definitely see Olivia had a great time in their home and was very well taken care of.
I highly recommend Sue (and her adorable dog Barney). Sue sat for my pup Lilly, and for the first time ever I came back from a trip to a happy and content dog. In addition to taking amazingly good care of Lilly, Sue took the time for long walks, play time and quite an effort to bring Lilly “out of her shell” - I am so grateful to have found THE most awesome stepmom for Lilly!
Isa's stay with Sue was wonderful. Sue was proactive in communication, has a lovely home and yard, and sweet dog companion that Isa enjoyed. Isa usually runs out of her carers' homes, ready to get back to her usual family- not so this time, but I won't take it personally! Thanks so much Sue, for taking great care of our baby!
Our dogs are not the easiest to handle, with high energy and high anxiety. We have used Sue several times, and each time the dogs love going there even more. When we dropped them off for this last visit, they couldn't wait until we left! They wanted to go for walks and hang out with Sue and her lovely dog, Barnaby. They were happy and relaxed when we got back from our trip and we never worried about our dogs while we were gone. Definitely we'll be seeing Sue and Barnaby again!
