Balham based dog lover.

Pet care experience

Having grown up in a house with both dogs and cats, I am big lover of both and love spending time with four legged friends. I have taken care of dogs whether it be, a family dog or personally, I had a Chocolate Lab called Tia. I also regularly look after a few differant dogs, whether it be for the day during work hours or boarding. I am comfortable with large and small dogs. As you will see from my profile. I regularly look after dogs of all types, big and small, I am experienced with slightly stubborn natured dogs such a Betty the Rottwieler and Koa the Bull Terrier and managing dogs like these around other owners who are often cautious of larger breeds. Equally i am regularlly asked to look after smaller breeds and am confortable and flexible in my approach. So a nice mix and varied experience.

Stewart was great with our puppy Charlton. Easy to book and looked after him so well. He even managed to stop the puppy biting which we had been struggling with, so very grateful for the training he did with him! Charlton was a happy doggy at the end of the day.

I have my own flat with no housemates. So I am able to board dogs and let them roam with boundries and have space for a crate if your dog is crate trained. As i mentioned im very close to both commons which are perfect for walks. I also have my own transport with a dog seat belt for safe transport if local and needed.

Information Stewart M. would like to know about your pet

For me routine is key, feeding times, walking and if you have tradtional toilet break times. I aim to act like a home away from home. Any behaviours i should be aware of. Especially if your dog is close to or on heat or unneutered an male. Even the little things. Good off the lead but a bit less so on lead. Recall levels are important and treat response so I can reward them for being a good doggo, so you as an owner dont see all your hard work go to pot, especially in younger dogs. Equally any other behaviours to others such as children is important. Balham is nappy valley so its important to make your dog and others comfortable when out walking and know their boundries and comfort level and adapt to this, so that they have an enjoyable time.

A typical day

I love to play games and try new things with all dogs i look after. Whether its trying a new trick or just playing tug or other games. My focus is on a stress free calm environment for any dogs I look after rather than over excitement of looking after a dog and trying too hard. I love to go for walks around both wandworth common and tooting common and have found locally a private area which is perfect for letting bigger excitable dogs off the leash without fear of other owners panics, who have traditionally smaller dogs in the local area. This is equally perfect for recall training and for those that never qute got the full hang of it. I love taking the dogs to local coffee shops and also to local pubs, its great for socialisation and teaching good behaviours, especially in younger dogs and just adds variety to their day.

I work from home 2 days a week, so I am able to have dogs in my flat during work time and evenings and live close to both Wandsworth and Tooting Common, which are perfect for walks. I live next to both a dog friendly coffee shop and pub which are perfect for training puppies to relax in busy environments and for socialisation. It also means your dog will not just be in the flat. We will go for lots of walks and keep busy and entertained.
