I've been a pet owner for the last 30 years. Dogs, mostly, but I've had roommates with cats and birds, and managed to keep everyone happy & healthy. All of my dogs have been rescues, and most of them have been seniors. I've lived in rural settings and recently, I lived in a dog friendly building in NYC, with 2 senior beagles in my life. I'm currently living with a Bluetick Hound that was rescued from the South. He's special needs (was abused, and found injured in the woods), but he's making progress in our house! The only type of pet I've never had, or taken care of are exotics (other than some birds). I've never had any reptiles. I love spending time with animals, and I treat them like part of my extended family. Recently, one of my regular clients sent me a text, saying that one of her two pups had passed away. I really appreciated being in the loop. The news hit me pretty hard, and I'm not sure that I've gotten over it yet. That's the only downside to bonding with fur babies, but I wouldn't give up the chance to spend time with them. Any questions, do not hesitate to ask!
