Pet care experience
My mother was an English Shepherd breeder and farm dog trainer, something which I loved and was helping out with about as soon as I could walk. I learned a lot from her about behavior and how to interpret an animal's wants and needs, and have a tendency to make quick friends with most pets. The only downside I’d say is that I have a bad habit of talking more to dogs than to people, haha! I also have about a decade of applied training experience and am happy to discuss adding leash etiquette, desensitization training for reactive dogs, healthy physical boundaries during playtime, and more! Feel free to ask about training services!

Steve is amazing! My rescue is very touchy and doesn’t often let strangers approach with a leash. Steve must be a dog whisperer or something, because he managed to get a leash on her within 2 mins of meeting her! He was super communicative and attentive and cleaned up after himself. 100% recommend him!
Steve was great with the dogs—sent many snaps/videos that let us know they were doing well. He got to know the dogs and their personalities and kept them happy and healthy while we were away. On top of everything else, Steve offered to be helpful around the house while we were out of town. The dogs enjoyed his company and he is a very lovey person. I would highly recommend Steve as a sitter for your dogs (we did in-home, our home, pet sitting) and am happy to act as a reference as needed!
I would trust Steve over every other sitter on this site, hands down. He has a ton of experience and can communicate with dogs in an uncanny way. He is kind and loving, but firm. When you return, your dog will be happy, healthy, and better trained than when you left.
Steve grew up on a farm and has many years of experience handling and training dogs, is wonderful with cats, just about every kind of small pet, even large livestock. Caring, honest and trustworthy, there is no one I would rather have care for my critters. Highly recommended!
