Pet care experience
As a child we always had dogs and cats and I was primarily responsible for their care. We have a 17 year old cat now. I have experience administering insulin shots to our schnauzer as a child. Our cat, Cubby, has kidney problems so we give him subcutaneous fluids and a pill daily. We enjoy spending time with with pets and know that time with them is as important as keeping them fed and watered. I have sat for my daughter’s dog, as needed, since he was a puppy. We also sit for our neighbors when they go away for weekends, etc. Our lives don’t have a schedule. No jobs or time restrictive hobbies, etc. We usually have all day free to visit and play with your pets! We will spend time with your pets and ensure they are properly fed, watered and otherwise cared for. We can bring your mail in, water plants etc if needed while there.

My dog was a bit reticent walking with Steve and Jodi , but they persevered to finally gain her confidence. She’s a rather shy dog I would highly recommend them

More is better. Contact information for the owners, your veterinarian and one or two other people that can be contacted in case of an emergency. Feeding and watering instructions including what, how much and how often to feed. Your pets favorite activities, or places to sit/sleep, etc. Any medical concerns, medicines, etc. Specific rules that may not be intuitive. For us, our cat loves to drink out of the faucet sink but it makes him sick. So when we are gone he tries to talk the sitter into letting him drink that way. That’s just one example. Are you ok with us texting you updates and photos while we are sitting with your pets ? And a following text or call to ensure you arrived home and your pet is safe after your time away.
A typical day
We will spend time petting and talking to your pets. For indoor pets we can play inside the house with balls or other cat/dog toys. If we can play outdoors, we can play fetch in the backyard or go on walks.
