Hi, My name is Steve. I retired early from a long career as a healthcare professional, both in the clinical end and also the administrative end of the hospital business. I recently moved to Albuquerque from Chester County, PA. I have been a pet owner, lover, rescuer,adopter and "whisperer" for my entire life. I have always had a special connection with dogs and cats. I grew up with animals, cats, dogs, fish, turtles, rabbits, chicks at Easter and also had a horse at one time. My dogs growing up were always Collies and Schnauzers. I feel very comfortable around all animals and have been told that animals can tell that I enjoy their company. I never feel afraid around animals and love to feel that immediate connection. I love to travel, when I can. Enjoy theatre and I am also enjoy art. I always said that when I retired, I wanted to work with pets. I volunteer with a local animal rescue and have 2 very spoiled cats. (You can see their picture on my page.) When I was a child, going on vacation was stressful when we would take my collie "Missy" to the vet for boarding. One time, she escaped the collar and ran all the way home. We never tried to board her again. Therefore, that is the service I would like to provide for you. A worry free business trip or vacation, where your pet gets to stay in their own environment, on the couch, if allowed, or on their favorite blanket, waiting for you to come home. I would just be their friend until you got home. That is how I see myself, second best, but better than alone or at a stressful boarding! Many years of boarding pets for friends, family. Lover of all animals, dogs, cats, birds. You name it....sorry, no reptiles!! Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover my entire life. We always had at least one dog while I was growing up and never knew if there was going to be another! I became a cat owner when I moved for a job and did not have enough time to devote to dogs. I feel dogs need love, attention and lots of play time and human interaction. My experience administering medication Yes. I am comfortable with oral or injections. I worked in a Lab for years, so I am very comfortable with injections and needles.
