I love dogs! I work from home and am the primary care giver to our children (and wife :). My wife and I have a beautiful home in Lafayette that has half of an acre with hills for dogs to run, explore, and exert their high energy. The entire yard is surrounded by a tall, sturdy fence, for your pet's safety. I have over 40 years caring for dogs. My kids love dogs and like to play ball with them. I also spend a lot of time with our guests, making sure everyone is having a good time. I have some experience in taking care of dogs medically and can administer oral medications if needed. Your dog will have their own area to sleep in, nap in, and will also have free run of our home inside and outside as if they were part of our family. I typically board 2-3 dogs at a time max, but will have a fourth or fifth rarely and only if vetted first to ensure that they will all get along nicely. He had a long life of over 17 years and made many friends in the dog world. He is greatly missed by his human family and the many dogs that he met and mentored. Steve is incredibly kind and flexible- he went way above and beyond for our dog Max this past weekend! Our flight was delayed and we needed Steve to keep Max one more night. Max had run out of food, and Steve took it upon himself to supplement with homemade food- lucky Max! Pick up and drop off are a breeze, Steve sent lots of photos of Max playing outside and resting cozy inside. Max does not even hesitate when dropped off at Steve’s house. Cannot recommend him highly enough!!
Simba had a great time with Steve. At 12y of age, Simba requires special attention and Steve went out of his way to accommodate his needs. We got lovely updates and felt assured that Simba is in great hands!
Steve and his family are amazing! They have watched my dog Jacks for a while now and he has so much fun with his dog Rocket every time! He has a beautiful back yard where Jacks loves to play and Jacks is exhausted coming home from having so much fun during the day! Steve sends photos and updates throughout the day and me and my family are so lucky and thankful to have found him! :) thanks Steve!!
Steve took excellent care of our girl. She's just over a year old and still learning. I'd definitely recommend him.

I have a fenced yard on a hill, where the pups can have a nice view of the court and front yard. I keep the dogs on a leash out front, until I can trust them not to run into the street (this can take awhile sometimes :). I am familiar with dog crates and I am very flexible on your care instructions.

Our family is open to all breeds and we have owned large dogs and small dogs in the past. I highly recommend introducing your dog to our family to make sure they are comfortable with us. I would like to have the dog house trained, and know if they have any special diets, restrictions, bathroom, barking, eating, or sleeping habits that we must be aware of. Especially if they have any anxieties such as human separation or chewing issues so I can be better prepared to help provide them extra calming input. Dogs must be neutered or spayed. Vaccinations: Dogs must be caught up on all core vaccinations, (parvovirus, distemper, canine hepatitis, Bordetella bronchiseptica, and rabies) plus flea and tick prevention. Also, highly recommend non-core vaccines such as Leptospira bacteria as well.
A typical day
Dogs can go on walks and run around our big back yard! I am outside gardening in the yard most of the day (when not raining), so expect your dog to be able to run and be off leash in the yard for part of the day. On hot days they can relax inside in an air conditioned tile and wood floors home. And if your dog likes car rides, they can come along with me to pick up/drop the kids from school! I like to take the dogs on a Trail nearby for walks. They usually get to meet other dogs too.

I only work part-time from home, so I am with your dog most, if not all, of the day. My wife works from home too and is sometimes available to help me. I am typically up everyday by 7am, and do a 7:30-8am feeding, and a 4:30-5pm feeding, with pee breaks every 2-3 hours and playtime with me twice/day or a walk and a playtime. I work in the yard often and I like having the dogs with me.
