Senior dogs are a priority
Pet care experience
Hello dog owners and friends! My name is Steve and I am a retired professional who calls Cape Cod home. I enjoy taking care of adult and senior pets. Vacationing on the Cape, but your accommodations don't accept pets? I have worked with this scenario before. I have ramps into my house and into my completely fenced-in back yard. I make every effort to make your dog feel like they are home. I have several dog beds throughout the house and provide easy access to my back yard. I am adept at giving medications, if necessary during your dog's stay. I live close to 2 cranberry bogs, which I use to walk larger dogs during their stay. I have been a pet owner since 2007 and have rescued a number of senior dogs since that time. Currently, I have a new senior addition to my household; Bailey, a very chill mini-border collie. She gets a long with most dogs and all people.

I’m guilty of being a helicopter Mom. My dog is very attached to me and spoiled! Needless to say I was overly worried leaving Finn for 5 nights. Steve was amazing putting me to ease. He sent pictures and videos that clearly showed Finn both happy and comfortable. Finn will be a repeat customer:)
This is where you want your dogs! Stephen took care of my 2 older dogs for 8 days and did such a great job - I recommend him 100%. From the fenced-in yard to the neighborhood w-a-l-ks, Stephen gave my dogs the movement they needed to rest (sofa, chair, multiple dog beds, you get the idea). And the snuggles? I did not get photos of that (selfies?) but when it was time for me to take them home, my recent rescue wanted to stay! He literally stood in front of Stephen stretching his neck up for pets. Um, hello? I'm the Mommy. Focus. Your dogs will love staying with Stephen!
Stephen was amazing. This was by far the longest we spent away from our two dogs. I specifically chose Stephen because he stated he was good with senior dogs, and he was. My 15 yo Dalmatian is having a hard time getting around and Stephen was great. He has ramps into and out of his house and truly cares about dogs. He was responsive to my questions and concerns, and sent messages and videos frequently, during our time away. I will be using Stephen again.

A typical day
I live near 2 very large cranberry bogs and several walking trails. I typically take dogs there for long walks. Most people walk their dogs off-leash at the bogs, but I'm not willing to risk it for the pets I take care of.

I retired from my job in the pharmaceutical industry at an early age so that I could enjoy many years of retirement and doing the things that I enjoy such as taking care of other people's pets.
