Dog-Lover Looking for Friends!
Pet care experience
While I have grown up with and taken care of dogs my entire life, my first major test in taking good care of one was when I adopted my beloved Cockapoo 12 years ago. Unfortunately, he recently passed away, but I hope to put everything I learned from loving and taking care of him into making new friends and having some wonderful canine (or feline!) companions come over from time to time. I love doing activities with pups, whether it’s long walks, hikes, car rides, trips to the beach or an open field, and more. Tell me what your pet likes and I’ll see to it. I have experience handling all kinds of emergencies, medications and special needs for older dogs, and more. I truly enjoy the company of animals. After all, that’s why I’m on here!

Stephen is incredible with pets. Not only does he make them feel loved and happy, but you can trust they’ll be safe. He is so sweet and attentive to their individual needs. Stephen is one of few people I can leave my dog with and know they will have a wonderful time and will be cared for if anything unexpected arose. Traveling without my dog can be hard, but knowing they’ll be with Stephen alleviates so many worries!
Stephen is an amazing friend to all dogs, and a loyal and trustworthy caregiver. Having had dogs all his life and caring for them deeply, I wholeheartedly give him my full recommendation. Not only is he an amazing pet caregiver, but he is a teacher; a testament to his true love for taking care of others.
Stephen is a “dog guy”. Whether it’s growing up with them at home, having his own most of his adult life, or taking care of friends’ dogs without hesitation, he’s just a natural. I might need to get a dog now that he’s going to be on Rover!

I have a large fenced-in patio and walkway, and access to all kinds of parks and walking trails nearby. I am able to crate your dog if that is what they need to feel safe and secure while I am away or at night, but I am very much a “roam free” household if dogs are house trained and well mannered. Furniture and the bed are fair game unless pet parents say otherwise! I also have two very cozy pet beds for small to medium size dogs.

A typical day
I live near all kinds of possibilities for outdoor fun - hikes, walks (trail or neighborhood), parks, beach, etc. We’re a short drive from anything else a dog could want. At home, we love to play with toys and cuddle up on the couch.

Availability
I am a teacher by day, so your dog would have to be comfortable being alone for a short while during weekdays (8am to 12/1pm most days), but I can also work with your buddy’s needs to see what is possible. Wednesdays can be tough on my end, but if you really need it, let me know and we’ll see what we can work out!
