We always had dogs in the home when I was growing up. My first dog as a child was a Saint Bernard, "Colonel," who used to lie on top of me when it was cold - better than any blanket. I've had small dogs and large dogs, but for the past 19 years I have had mostly retired racing greyhounds in my home, and I have 2 today. 9 years ago I adopted my first cat, and now have 2 cats living in harmony with my 3 greyhounds. I've dealt with all sorts of dietary and medical needs over the years and have a close working relationship with my vet. Each pet has his/her own personality and needs and I've learned to watch for what each pet needs to be comfortable.
