Pet care experience
My dating app profile says that one of my life’s greatest joys is winning the approval of someone’s pet, and that’s the truest statement I’ve ever written about myself. I grew up with cats - and love them - but I also love dogs; I have yet to take my pet sitting expertise beyond those species, but lemme know what you have and we’ll make it happen! Over the last couple years I’ve dog sat for friends and my boss’s family, and really enjoyed it. Some friends told me about Rover, so I thought I’d join the club :)

Stephen was top notch. He went out of his way to connect with both my older, timid 10 year old and younger, super energetic 2 year old pups on their own terms. He took them for walks and kept them happy for a full week while I was gone, keeping me updated with messages and photos. TImely, personable, and always asking good questions. I'd recommend Stephen without any hesitation.
Stephen did a great job with my pup. He sent me some sweet photos and my pup was happy and healthy when I got home!
Stephen did a great job in transporting my dog Wilkie to the vet health center. He came on time as agreed and communicated effectively throughout the job. He is also calm and composed and knows how to handle with a new dog. Definitely recommend him to take care of your pet.
Stephen is wonderful with our two Australian Shepherds (one old and one young). He plays with them, walks them, sends us video and picture updates when we're away for more than a couple of days, and he's been very patient and conscientious with our younger dog who likes to eat covers off of tennis balls, mulch, and other sundry things he finds in the back yard. He noticed when the dog wasn't feeling well after one such incident and took good care of him, reaching out to our vet and handling the issue well. When we were away for 10 days, our neighbors commented to us when we returned about "the nice guy who often took our dogs for walks" and how good he was with them. He's respectful of our home, very responsible, and an all-around great guy. We trust him 100% with our furry family members and highly recommend him.

Currently the house I’m renting does not allow pets :( so I won’t be able to board or have pets over until I move; but besides that, I am very aware of my and 🐶🐱🐶🐱‘s surroundings at all times, so I try to be extra safe on walks. If your dog likes the dog park, we will definitely take park trips; but if they are more shy and reserved, we’ll snuggle on the couch and be hermits, or throw a tennis ball in the backyard, whatever they prefer.

I don't have any preferences for breeds or activity level, etc. Let me know how your dog does around people and other dogs. I had one incident where the dog I was watching got very anxious/excited around other people and dogs, and slipped out of her collar while I was holding her leash (she is fine and now walks with a harness). This is obviously something I'm sure we would all love to avoid in the future, so knowing your dog's mannerisms would be great.
A typical day
I like to adapt my level of activity to the preferences and energy level of the dogs I'm watching. Is your pup full of energy? We might go for several walks a day, or I'll even take them out for a run, or to the dog park. Throwing a ball in the backyard? Heck yeah. Would he/she rather snuggle on the couch? Fine by me. As for walks, I'm most familiar with the Boulevard & Normaltown neighborhoods of Athens, but I'm willing to explore as much as your dog.

Availability
I have a standard full-time job in the Normaltown neighborhood of Athens, but have a flexible lunch schedule, so it’s rare that I’d be away from home for more than 4 hours at a time. Besides work, I stay active and am up for early morning & late night walks. In my pet sitting experience I have stayed at the home of the owner, which I am happy to do, but also happy to pop in a few times a day to check on your little sweet pea.
