Your Pet is in good paws with me!

Pet care experience

My mom and I bred dogs on our farm since I was 8 years old, so animals have always been a part of my life. I always had puppies, a cat and usually a floppy eared bunny at the foot of my bed, bonding with me as a child. I am home with plenty of love ❤️ to give. I’m also home with no work emergencies or distractions. I’m available all the time from home since recovering from Hodgkins Lymphoma. Thus, plenty of time to provide a safe and loving environment for your Pet baby. I can give your pet the run of my condo, a large balcony to bask in the sun and a view of the city. I can also close an area off if you need your Pet in a confined setting.

Stephanie was an amazing sitter for my baby! She sent me pictures and kept me updated the whole time! Definitely recommend her 100%. My pup has severe separation anxiety and I get nervous leaving him but I wasn’t nervous with her! Thank you again Stephanie!

Information Stephanie W. would like to know about your pet

Any medical conditions. Medication treatment required on preset schedule, maintenance meds, medication or treatment for a condition that arises (allergic reaction; Epipen auto-injector). Pet babies have many drug options now a days. Sublingual meds for anxiety, nausea, acid stomach. Some short snouted dogs require heart and or respiratory meds given their increased breathing demands. Mask/ naso-oral Oxygen provided if needed by “Oxygen Plus.” I would need to know walking limitations so as not to compromise your pet baby in any way. Some dogs can not tolerate long walks b/c they are older or have joint or breathing restrictions. Diabetic, glucose testing provided. Insulin injection trained. I am certified in Pet baby CPR and First-Aid. Food restrictions. Meal times, snacks allowed? Does your pet baby need food left down all day or scheduled meals. Play or behavior that needs to be provided or avoided. Does your pet baby need to avoid children or other dogs when out on a walk? I will need to ask if set meal times or voiding schedule times exists in your pet baby’s day or is a just wait and see type schedule functional for your pet baby. I would need Veterinary contact, emergency Veterinary Hospital contact of choice (Garden State or Red Bank). In case of emergency person in the event pet baby owner is not reachable. Walking/voiding schedule and again meal, medication or snack schedule. Lastly, any symptoms to watch for in a medically compromised pet baby. And of course I will love to hear anything you feel I need to know about your pet baby. Maybe your pet baby is afraid of thunder. Do you use a Thundercap or Thundershirt during storms? Or as aforementioned, ThunderEase spray or a prescription med for Anxiety during storm or any other situation. Overall, anything you feel I need to know is never too much to tell as pet babies are as important to some of us, as human children are to others. To some of us they are human.

A typical day

I love to take your pet baby out to pee first thing as this is the most needed time outside for any dog. Then going back inside to start our morning with any special needs like medicine, maintenance therapy or grooming requirements (Angel eyes, nose and paw conditioning, teeth and tongue care, etc). After breakfast, take a rest and have belly rubs. Spend time out on the balcony where the view of dogs walking by all day long can keep any dog excited, engaged, and busy barking if a passerby warrants his/her attention. Usually a dog will tell the caregiver what his/her interests are; like bringing you a toy to play tug of war or catch. Snack time if allowed by owner, is always a fun break during the day. Some prefer laying by caregiver or jumping up on couch for cuddle time. Most dogs will tell their caregiver what they need. Especially with me, because I’m always with your pet. Throughout the day and night. I don’t leave as this can be terribly scary for any pet in a strange place. I’ve learned that a potty trained dog will pretty much always seek out your attention when bathroom-outside time is necessary. Sitting outside downstairs meeting neighborhood dogs that go by always serves for good fun and potty time if they need, as a grassy knoll is right next to outside sitting area. Any additional meal times, frequent hydration breaks (bottled water only) available at all times in your pet baby bowl or mine; whichever you prefer. Afternoon naps and tactile mushiness. More belly rubs. Other necessary potty breaks. Then dinner. Repetition of anything your pet baby seems to prefer and avoid anything that your pet baby isn’t interested in. A full day of hands on loving affection is usually preferred. But, some dogs like to be left to nap and hang out alone. If that is the case they will still be supervised at all times.
