Welcome to the menagerie!

Pet care experience

I’ve had pets my entire life so I’m very much an animal person. I’ve had a few senior dogs so I’m happy to take care of yours too, and oral medications or injectables are no issue. I’m most experienced with small dogs as those are what I have owned but I’ve taken care of large dogs for friends and on Rover. I am not able to take dogs over ~40 pounds at this time. I’ve got a big fenced in yard. There is an unfenced pool so they will not be left out unsupervised. I work part time and make my own schedule so my availability is very open. When I'm home, the pets follow me around as I do my daily activities, and since I make my own schedule, I'm happy to adjust it to their needs. If your pup needs a walk 3x/day, we can do that. When I do need to go out for errands or work, I will put your pup in a crate so that they are not left alone unsupervised; however, this is never longer than four hours. Also, if I have agreed to care for a dog that for example, needs potty breaks every two hours, then I will be sure to make my schedule such that I will be back home at least every two hours for the duration of the stay. I have a 2 small dogs and 3 cats, and I live in my family home. The cats are pretty friendly and will run away to find their own space if need be. My parents' maltipoo, Ollie, is a friend to all and loves to play; Noodle is a little standoffish but there is plenty of room in the house to separate him from guests if they do not get along. Pet care is already a part of my weekly routine, as I have five of my own. Mine are pretty mellow and couch potato-y, although I do take the pups to the dog park a few times a week. We also play fetch often. With guests, I just feed separately to avoid any issues and treat them as though they were my own, with the exception of crating or separating them while I'm away. I do this to ensure safety as my dogs and you pet will still be new to each other, and because it's possible that some pets engage in destructive behaviors due to anxiety while I am away. I’m new to Rover in Bakersfield, but I’ve cared for other people’s pets many times before. The animals just kind of follow me about my day, coming outside with me when I do my laps or go for a walk, sometimes tagging along for errands, and napping at home when they cannot tag along.

Stephanie did an amazing job with our dogs while we were away. We came back to happy, healthy pups and couldn’t ask for more! She even cleaned up an entire dog bed that my doggies tore apart. Thanks Stephanie!!!!

Doggy day care rate is assuming you need care for a full 8-12 hours. I’m open to less for less time. Please let me know of any special needs, dietary restrictions, and what a typical day for your dog looks like. I offer a 10% discount on stays longer than 1 week. My preference is that your animal be on some sort of flea preventative medication if they are staying with me. My animals are treated regularly because they seem to bring them in from outside sometimes, especially in the warmer months. Things to bring! (boarding, day care) Food (dishes are welcome but not necessary) Bed or a blanket if they have one Toy/something they like from home Treats Leash and harness for walks Emergency contact information and protocol

A typical day

I’m happy to adjust my day according to your pet's energy level; we can do a walk(s), fetch in the yard, sit in the park, or sit at home and cuddle on the couch. Please let me know if they like to/can swim as I have a pool.
