Growing up, I was blessed with the world's best golden retriever-mix that my family adopted from the humane society. Ever since, I've had a love for animals big and small! I've worked with a tiny chihuahua puppy, to an energetic vizsla, to a special-needs golden retriever, to a corgi-beagle mix with separation anxiety. If there is a dog that needs care, you can count on me to be there! Additionally, I have worked at two zoos, and am well acquainted with animal behavior and husbandry. Though never a zookeeper myself, I have used the behavior techniques that I have observed with dogs that I have worked with. Who knew that training an elephant and training a dog could be similar! I have cared for dogs who are as low key as not caring that I was there, to as high maintenance as needing to be in my lap 24/7. I have also developed relationships with dogs who have severe separation anxiety from their owners, and it is so rewarding when they run towards me now instead of cowering behind their people! Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover for as long as I can remember! My family adopted our first dog, Rhodes, when I was in the 9th grade, and it was love ever since. I was Rhodes' primary trainer and took him to all his classes and taught him additional tricks.
