Best4 Weekend Getaway! Fenced yard!

Pet care experience

This is a very dog friendly home with lots of love, play time, and walks. I currently have a young playful boxer who is great with all size dogs. He is selective with dominant/ intact males so a meet and great is always a must! I’m available most evenings for play dates and daycare. I am available most weekdays and weekends for boarding or daycare, however I do work an office job 8:30-4:30. I’ve had multiple friends dogs stay while the family was on vacation. Very attentive to special diet needs and nutrition. I have one crate and 4 dogs beds located around the house. I’ve had 9 year old dogs stay over and puppies as young as 3 months old. We have a fenced backyard. If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for considering us! Sadly, a really stressful and bad experience. I've given myself a few days now to be able to be more thoughtful and less emotional in my review. So here's what I have about my particular experience and in what situations I think Stephanie could be successful. Situation: I have two Vizslas, high energy hunting dogs that love running and cuddling. One is intact but generally has no issues with this in dog parks (we live in the city) and anywhere else we go. One is neutered but a rescue from an abusive household so typically needs a bit of extra love, especially when in a new place. I needed dog sitting services because I was going to Hong Kong for the weekend, so naturally I was worried the dogs would get along and was happy for the chance for the dogs to have a day together before we left. I communicated all of these concerns upfront with Stephanie. Now reviewing my experience by phase. Pre-booking: I was really impressed with Stephanie's process and the amount of information she requested from me about my dogs. I filled out a three page form and she seemed well prepared. We had a hard time getting an early meet and greet so we decided I would drop the boys off a day early in order to make sure everything was fine. Booking: we did end up dropping off my boys a day early. The dogs seemed to get along really well and Stephanie has a nice size backyard that all three boys were running around and playing in. Situation seemed fine, and I asked a few more times if Stephanie was sure she could handle that much energy and was reassured she and her (I think) boyfriend would be just fine. I left feeling that the boys were in good hands and that I could have a stress-free vacation. Stephanie also gave me great updates the first night and day and it seemed like all dogs were doing great. My husband and I boarded our flight, feeling good about the dogs having great care.... Fast forward to the moment I land and connect to WiFi in HK fifteen hours later. On the second day of their stay and my first vacation day, I landed to my emergency contact (my mom who lives in another city) texting and Facebook messaging me in a panic. Apparently the dogs, Stephanie and my intact dog, got slightly aggressive towards each other (some showing teeth and growling), she was keeping them separated but immediately decided that she was no longer able to care for my dogs. Rover was called in to try and set up new care for my dogs and then Stephanie changed her mind and decided that she could care for them but would keep them separate. Now the third day, Winston my rescue apparently jumped up on a counter and that was the final straw. Stephanie said she could no longer care for my dogs and that they had to find alternative care. Now..... If you are like me and you're obsessed with your dogs, you can only imagine how upset and stressful this whole process would be. I actually had no ability to help my dogs. Luckily I had a friend in town that agreed to take my boys for the last two days of my booking but I feel that Stephanie's behavior was extremely unprofessional and stressful to me and my dogs. I had communicated many many times that I would literally be across the world and would have a very limited ability to be online. When I dropped off the dogs, I mentioned that I could easily find them care for the next day but needed to know before I left. So I pick up the boys and they were both visibly skinnier when I got them from my friend and my intact male, who is normally the cuddliest friendliest guy (there's a reason we feel safe w him intact, he's such a sweetheart), is now stress peeing and acting fearful. He's never done this before and I'm only hoping the effects are not long term. So what does this experience tell me about Stephanie as a dog sitter? I don't think that active dogs or intact dogs would do well here. She obviously has good reviews so she's clearly been successful in some situations but if you have an active breed, intact male, or dog that needs any additional or special attention, I strongly do not recommend Stephanie. If you're thinking of booking, make sure you do a meet and greet with her dog, and have your backup options ready just in case. I hope this review is helpful to you all and has been a fair evaluation of my individual experience. Stephanie was extremely apologetic about my experience and seemed to care but at the end of the day, my dogs came back stressed, skinny, and showing fear phase reactions so it's not a good fit for us and I regret the booking (even though the entire amount was refunded by Rover bc of the situation).

Stephanie took great care of our dog. She went the extra mIle to make sure she was taken care of, and sent us reassuring photos along the way. Will definitely use again, and highly recommend.

Stephanie has dog sat for our two dogs multiple times while we were out of town. She is the best dog-sitter we have ever used! She sends picture updates at least once a day, which really gives us piece of mind. I know whenever my dogs are with her they are safe, well cared for, and having a great time. Her dog Rocky is a wonderful dog who gets along great with our dogs as well- they're play buddies now! She has a fenced in yard for the pups to run around in and really treats your dogs like they are her own. We couldn't be happier with her services!!

No breed preferences. I would like to know any behavior issues or difficulties, allergies, or medications. I require ahead of time to know if your dog is spayed or neutered. I do not have children, but I would like to know if your dog is good with children being that there is a 2 year old next door.

A typical day

We will play for hours in the backyard (weather permitting) with toys and sometimes the tiny dog pool. We will walk around the neighborhood. We will not go to dog parks for safety purposes. My boxer loves our walks and car rides as well.
