Family to Love Your Fur Baby

Pet care experience

I have had dogs all of my life and they are the most special of friends. We would love to welcome your fur baby into our hearts and home while you're away! We have always traded dog sitting with our friends and had many dog friends as pets ourselves. We completely understand the need to know that your pup is in a welcoming and loving environment. We live near open space, so daily hikes are available if your dog is into big energy days, or even just short and slow spirit walks if that's what they need. We can also help your senior dog with medicines and extra sensitivity. We have a big and fenced yard and can easily crate up if needed. We always leash during walks. We do not have a dog of our own (anymore), and we only keep animals from the same home, so there are no territorial risks.

Stephanie and Nate are great sitters. Our 9 yr old dog needs lots of interaction with people and he was happy at their house. They kept us up to date with notes and photos of him enjoying their attention and care. Definitely will use their services again!

Stephany is a confident, loving dog sitter who makes our doggie part of her family. We NEVER worry if he is being taken care of, given lots of love or tended to if he’s a little out of sorts.

Stephanie and Nathan continue to be our favorite dog sitters in the front range. They're incredibly nice people, keep us updated with photos, and our dog loves going over to their house! Truly the best.

Safety, trust & environment

We take care to keep a close eye on dogs and accompany them in the fenced backyard off-leash. On walks, we never take dogs off leash -- even if it means playing fetch alongside a dog friend to get some their energy out! We welcome dogs that are anxious around other dogs and are sensitive to keeping them feeling safe in our home. Day to day that means we take care to avoid overlap with dog visitors. Sometimes that means waiting until after dark to walk an anxious dog to avoid conflict. For dog's with a bit of separation anxiety, it might be helpful to provide something that smells like you (a t-shirt or something) for comfort. We take instructions from you during meet and greets and honor your wishes for your pet's care. You know your baby best! Knowing your pet's quirks and needs is more than half the battle to prevent safety issues for us. We ask that you provide a local emergency contact (especially if you plan to be out of cell service). In the unlikely event of a true emergency, we will call on one of the several close vets in our area, but it is helpful to have your own vet's contact on hand. We have two young kids who are high energy and can be loud! If you don't know how your dog(s) will like wild little people, we insist on a meet and greet during the evening or weekend when the kiddos are home to be sure your dog is comfortable with them.

Information Stephanie & Nathan D. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any special needs, what their likes and dislikes are, and commands I might need. Puppies and young dogs are welcome - we encourage a meet and greet to make sure they are ok with kiddos. Unfortunately, we cannot host dogs with aggressive backgrounds or history of biting for our family's safety.

A typical day

I love to walk up the hill behind our house for easy hikes or go up into the foothills for shadier hikes in the summer months. In the hot days we can take our furry friends to Clear Creek for a shady walk and a little dip.

I'm currently in school and home most days, so I have plenty of time to hang with your pup! Mon through Friday your dog(s) will enjoy a quiet day until the kids get home. They will have a walk in the morning and evening or afternoon (or whatever their needs may be!) During the weekends they will have kids to play with and lots of attention. I do have some boundaries around pickups and drop-offs to accommodate our own busy family schedule and bedtimes, though: Day Care: Limited Availability We can provide day care generally during the work day, 8 am - 7 pm. Pick-ups later than 7 pm should request a boarding night. Drop off time is somewhat flexible, message if needed. For Day Care requests I only post availability for days that I know I will be home at least 7 hours with your dog(s); keep in mind that since I only take dogs from one family at a time, this means that daycare is somewhat limited due to overlap with boarding dogs. Boarding: Dog Boarding drop-off is all day from 7 am to 8 pm. I can also pick up or drop off your boarding dog(s) for you within a 10 mile radius of Golden for an additional fee. Pick-up and drop off times are limited to 8:30 am to 2:30 pm unless agreed to in advance. Feel free to message if the times don't suit.
