Reviews
I wish I could give more than five stars for Stephanie. She's so attentive and knowledgeable. Max was in the best care with her for four nights. Will rebook with Stephanie for SURE :)
Stephanie is a nice person, so it pangs me to write this review. However, due to her errors, my dog is currently receiving medical treatment for a problem that she did not have prior to booking with her. Therefore, I think it is important to let potential clients know what they might be putting themselves (and their fur baby) through if they choose her. The first time Stephanie watched my dog I had a fantastic experience (read my earlier review). Therefore, I decided to rebook with her. Stephanie watched my dog over the Christmas holiday and everything seemed great (she sent pictures, confirmed that she was administering my dog’s medication and even went to the pet store to buy food when my dog would not eat). However, when I picked my dog up, I noticed several problems. First, there was too much medication left in the bottle, which signaled that Stephanie was not administering it as instructed. Second, she did not put one of the medications in my bag, so I had to drive all the way back to her house on New Year's Eve and retrieve it (a 35-minute trip one-way). Finally, my dog would not open one of her eyes. I later learned that Stephanie did not follow my instructions regarding the medication (i.e., in addition to not administering it twice a day as instructed, she opened a pill and sprinkled it on her food, despite an explicit instruction on the bottle not to do that). I also learned that my dog has a cornea ulcer that likely happened as a result of Stephanie’s cat (when I returned to Stephanie’s house to get the medication she forgot to put in the bag, she mentioned that my dog “might have been scratched.”). I am extremely upset about Stephanie’s errors because they could cost my dog her vision or worse, her life. Therefore, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STEPHANIE. At least, not at this point (i.e., right now she is going through a very contentious custody dispute and that could have been why she was so distracted). Whatever it was, I cannot recommend someone that is careless and dishonest. Therefore, I emphatically, do not recommend her. In fact, at this point I would not advise anyone that loves their animals to use this service. FIND A REPUTABLE DOG FACILITY IN YOUR AREA.
First time using Rover and I am convinced that Stephanie is the BEST dog sitter in Chicago. She watched my dog for 5 days and sent daily updates, messages and pictures. She took my dog to the beach, comforted her during thunderstorms and surprised her with treats. That wasn't the best part of the stay. She administered twice daily eyedrops and made sure my senior dog (10 1/2 years old) was well-taken care of. Stepanie exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be requesting her for all of my future needs.
My dog Molly stayed with Stephanie and her son for 8 days this past holiday season & boy did Molly have fun with daily walks, including at the beach (a first for my dog!) and plenty of play time. The daily pictures proved it! I really appreciated that Stephanie included Molly into family life, such as a trip to Starbucks and getting a doggie treat there, letting Molly watch her son play with Legos and allowing Molly to get adjusted to the family cat, as well. I will definitely call on Stephanie again.
