Hello! My name is Stephanie. I currently dog sit in NYC and on the North Fork of Long Island. I have lived with a dog for over 10 years and truly understand the love and respect that is needed to make a dog feel happiest. My previous jobs have required me to be reliable, timely, and good at solving problems. Over time, I have learned how to think quickly and reasonably on my feet during every type of situation. Dogs can be a bit unpredictable, so these skills help me to provide excellent care for dogs and their loving owners. Stephanie watched my puppy while I went out for a few hours (as I was in town for a quick vacation)! She was so patient and understanding of Zoey's personality I could tell she has had a lot of experience especially with temperamental dogs! She provided us with updates and great photos.
Stephanie has walked our pup twice during the day now, both times on short notice, and always goes the extra mile. She's been great and our dog Mercedes, who can be pretty shy, seems to like her a lot.
I would absolutely trust Stephanie with my two dogs, as she has grown up with a dog and is very trustworthy, reliable, and mature. I have always known her to be respectful, engaging, and extremely helpful.

I always strictly follow the instructions left for me by dog owners. I'm very conscious of dog allergies and needs, so I only use the treats and food provided to me by the owner. I am also careful about opening doors that a dog could potentially escape from and ensure collars/harnesses are secure before heading out on a walk. Please make sure everything is clearly laid out (especially poop bags) so the walk goes smoothly!

I am comfortable around all breeds of dogs. Before sitting one, I would like to know their personal preferences for walks and playing. Some dogs like to go on long walks and love being outside, but others just want to do their business and head home. Similarly, some dogs could play for hours where others prefer to be left alone with their chew toy. Knowing these details would help me be the best sitter possible so I don't put any pups into a situation they do not like. It would also allow us to have the most fun and fulfilling experience together!
A typical day
Playing with dogs is also one of my favorite activities. I can spend hours playing with my dog, Salty. He loves catch and tug-of-war, and always expects at least 30 minutes of belly rubs after. Your dog would have so much fun with me and I would take care of them with so much love!

Availability
I'm working full time, but I can drop in on your dog during lunchtime and evenings! My schedule is typically open around dinner time if you'd like someone to watch your dog while you go out to eat.
