When I cared for my dog growing up, I’d take her outside by going to our backyard (down the deck and to the a lawn, which was fenced-in) so she could run and play, but also for her to use the bathroom (which she was trained to do in a separate section of the grass). We would sometimes run around on the grass out there with a treat or one of her toys too. My dog had a very sensitive stomach, so she did not eat very well. She required medication that I would give her on a regular basis. I would freshen up her water and food if the bowls looked dirty or definitely if anything was empty. I put together her meals for her at the appropriate times. We went for walks, often to the neighborhood park, and we used a harness on her as she would often pull too much on the regular leash. She was very friendly so she also would want to play and make friends with other people and dogs in the neighborhood. It really was an irreplaceable bond that we had, and it’s certainly the closest and longest experience I’ve had with pet care. I plan to be committed to caring for your dog certainly as you explicitly outline to me, but also well beyond that and as if they are my own.
