All dogs are unique
Pet care experience
I have had experience caring for animals since I was six years old. My parents made me write reports about proper care and training techniques for each animal before I was allowed to get one to prove that I was motivated and aware of the responsibilities of pet ownership. I have had dogs in my life since I was 8 years old. In college I began fostering and dog sitting for friends and acquaintances and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Just like with people, all dogs are unique. My philosophy is "Let them be who they are and love them for it." I have experience with dogs with high anxiety that bite and with medical conditions requiring medications and shots. I enjoy the challenge of turning a tentative dog into a friend.
Reviews
Stephanie's stay with Toby went very well. I really appreciated receiving text messages with photos of Toby on his walks. He was a happy camper on my return and I knew he was well cared for by Stephanie. I will definitely ask her to sit for Toby again!
Stephanie is great. My little girl is still getting used to other people. She took to Stephanie immediately. Stephanie came and fed my Ragna LuLu while I was at work and let her play in the middle of the day. She sent me pictures of my girl showing me how happy she was to be able to get out and about. Thank you Stephanie. I will be asking for your help again in the future.
Stephanie was fantastic! She took great care of both our dog (80 lbs, 12 years old) and our house. She provided both the regular exercise and couch time to make our senior dog feel right at home and the regular updates to make us feel at ease.
Stephanie was fantastic while we were away for a week with our dog. She sent updates daily letting us know our dog was well taken care of. Would definitely recommend Stephanie to anyone looking for a petsitter.

Information Stephanie F. would like to know about your pet
Regardless of breed, I prefer to meet the dog at its home with its owner present before a sitting to begin to establish myself as "safe" instead of meeting for the first time as an "intruder". My main concern is the dog's interaction with people and other dogs, both on a leash and off. Any potential behavior issues, like bolting out the door when someone tries to leave or barking incessantly at the mailman or a tendency to chew anything left on the floor, are good to know as well to provide a safe and healthy environment for the dog.
A typical day
My philosophy is that the least a dog's routine and environment change while you are gone, the better. I like to sit dogs in their own home because their owner is already gone, which can be stressful and upsetting already. To remove them from that "home" environment can cause additional stress. I try to modify my routine with each dog to mimic what the owner does. If you take your dog on three walks a day, I will do the same. If you feed it an "appetizer" an hour before each meal (yes, this has happened), I will do the same.
