As a qualified Lab technician responsible for the care of research animals in the laboratory setting, ensuring the safety and health of animals is both my profession and what I love to do. I have been caring for my own pets and my neighbors' pet since I was a child, and I have also worked with volunteer groups as a foster for dogs and cats. Not only that, but I have plenty of experience with aquatic pets, reptiles, birds, and rodents!

Stephanie did drop-in visits for our cat while we were on vacation. He requires injected medication twice a day. Stephanie was willing to stop over before the booking began to learn how to administer the medication. She made sure he always had food and water, kept the litter box clean, and gave him some extra loving so he didn't get too lonely while we were away. Stephanie was punctual, always responsive to messages, and kept us updated with a photo every visit. We are so appreciative to Stephanie for taking care of our special-needs cat and keeping our minds at ease while we were away. I would definitely recommend Stephanie and would use her again for our future needs.
I am writing to highly recommend Stephanie for a pet-sitting position. I have known Stephanie for many years and recently asked her to watch my cats while I was away on vacation. Stephanie took excellent care of the cats while I was gone. She was punctual, responsible, and attentive to their needs. She was also very reliable and communicated with me regularly to update me on how they were doing. She clearly loves animals and has a great way with them. Every pet owner and pet is different, and so I am very flexible with whatever routine your pet is used to. Any special feeding requirements or timing, crating, walks, playtime, etc. I can accommodate to keep your babies happy while you're away. I like to keep things clean, so I try to stay on top of providing fresh water, new wee wee pads (if applicable), clean litter boxes, and clean floors as often as possible.

Any special diets, medications, etc are important to know. Any particular behaviors, things to avoid, are of course also important. Activity level is also important to know. General behavior for walks is important to know ahead of time to ensure that I am able to handle the dog in case of emergencies (pulling, aggression towards other dogs, etc). I am a small individual and may not be a good fit for walking a large dog that requires strength to handle on the leash.
A typical day
A typical day really depends on the type of pet. Some pets, especially senior pets or shy pets, love to just lounge around and cuddle! I am happy to oblige. Others need a lot of exercise and play time, so I like to join them outside for long walks, socialization with other dogs and people if that's what they enjoy, and just play with toys around the backyard or dog park.

Availability
I do have a full-time, 9am-5pm day job, but have plenty of availability in the early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends to care for your pets. I also have some flexibility in the midafternoons to stop in if needed. I will always try to be flexible and accommodate where I can.
