I am a young professional woman living in Dix Hills, NY, who works as a writer. Before moving to NY, I spent time volunteering for an animal rescue in Detroit, an animal outreach organization in Detroit, and regularly fostered homeless dogs. My husband and I have a 5-year-old pitbull named Mia. I also have experience in training guide dogs and have successfully trained five that are currently working all over the United States and Canada! I enjoy long walks with whatever pup may have found its way into my home, and feel that a house cannot be a home without a dog. After growing up with my own German Shepherd and Labrador, my family decided we should begin raising Seeing Eye puppies for the blind. I raised five successful dogs to be placed across the country. I also spent a lot of time volunteering at the animal shelter in my hometown as a child, and have fostered abandoned, abused, and neglected rescue dogs through a Tampa animal rescue previously, and a Detroit-based rescue and Detroit-based animal outreach organization for nearly four years.
