Pet care experience
I have been involved in animal welfare and fostering dogs for 30 years. I have taken pet first aid classes and am experienced at making new dogs feel safe and happy in a new space. In addition to creating and running a foster-based rescue organization, I have experience working with disaster response and dogs from a multitude of backgrounds, often abused and neglected. My speciality is shy or fearful dogs.
Reviews
Stacy is wonderful with my Border Collie, Fiona. We just moved to Texas from Illinois, and I was concerned about Fiona adjusting to a new home and a new daycare provider. Stacy helped make our transition seamless and easy. She understands Fiona's needs and play habits. I strongly recommend Stacy, she's awesome!
Stacy is the best! If you are looking for someone who loves dogs and know dogs and their nature very well, look no further. Stacy cared for our Skip and he is a handful. It was so nice to leave town and actually be able to truly let loose because I knew my pup was in the best hands I could find. If your like me, it’s hard to leave our four legged family members behind but when you truly know they are being well cared for and with a loving, knowledgeable, and competent sitter, it changes everything. Stacy is our person! Skip loves her and we will be back again and again.

I have a secure fence and a dog door. When a new dog is here they do not have access to the dog door when I leave; they are crated until I am sure they are not trying to escape. Dogs generally have the run of the house once they are fully introduced to my dogs. We spend a lot of time outdoors in the yard in the evenings, weather permitting. My dogs love to play fetch or chase each other around the yard and guests usually learn to join in by the second day. New dogs eat separately and we do not have bones or other high-value treats around. I have successfully fostered hundreds of dogs over the years and know how to keep yours safe and happy. If you'd like updates while you are away, I'm happy to send you pictures or Facetime you.

Information Stacy S. would like to know about your pet
Where they typically sleep, what they enjoy, any good or bad places to pet them, treats they like or can't have, etc. We try to have fun here so tell me what's fun for your dog! Ideally I'd like to know how much experience your dogs has with other dogs, and any tips you have for how to best introduce them. If your dog is not good with other dogs, I do have limited ability to keep them separate for short stays. I will not take your dog if he/she is trained with or wearing a choke, prong, or e-collar. Please also do not transport a dog in the back of your truck when dropping off or picking up. Knowing about food allergies, resource guarding, whether the dog tends to bolt out a door or dig, etc., will all help keep them and us safe. You will be asked to acknowledge that when dogs are together, there is always a risk of an altercation. In the unlikely case of something like that, your dog's vet visit will be paid by you regardless of the circumstances.
A typical day
Your dog will be integrated into our routine. I work from home 8-5, so daytime is typically quiet time and the dogs hang out with me in my office. We take frequent breaks to go outside and play. In the evenings we spend time in the yard or watching tv. I occasionally leave for a couple of hours for a lunch, etc. and we will discuss how you want your dog confined while I am gone. I do not take new dogs for walks; I won't risk having a dog get lost. Your dog's safety is the most important concern.
