Animals are my family!
Pet care experience
SO glad to return to DSM! I've been house-sitting for dogs & cats for at least 20 years, mostly in California & Reno. Grew up here but finally moved back to my hometown 2.5 years ago...couldn't be happier! I grew up with both dogs & cats, and my recent 3 dogs have been my only children. Unfortunately down to one at present. Wally & I just lost his brother & we both decided it was time to open up our house again to other fur babies. While I'm not rich, I make sure that my babies get the best food, exercise, medical treatment & love possible. I strongly feel that ALL dogs should be treated as such and would treat your dog like a member of my own small family. I'm responsible, caring, patient and absolutely love the weird and wacky things that animals do! I give extra attention to "guest" dogs and make sure I do everything I can to make their stay as stress-free as possible. My job as a school bus driver allows me to be home for a couple of hours mid-morning to hang with dogs. Wally the Chihuahua & I would love to host your dog!
Reviews
Stacy did a great job with Tillie. We are very pleased.
Stacy was excellent. She truly cared for our dog Lucy, who can be timid when meeting new people and dogs. Stacy had great communication and provided us with pics each day as well as let us know how she was getting along with her own dog, Wally. I would not hesitate to book with Stacy again in the future. Thank you!
Stacy did a great job!! She made a great effort to help our dog feel right at home, especially during a thunderstorm! She would send messages and pictures almost daily. And was flexible with our time schedule.
Stacy was great with my dog. She made him feel at home and her dog Wally was nice to him too! I got frequent updates and pictures from her and he looked so happy. I will never look for another sitter if she is available!

I have a large NON-fenced yard, both front & back. Have a stake for leashes. I will NEVER leave dogs alone, but would prefer a dog that is not a runner!

Information Stacy A. would like to know about your pet
My 5# Chihuahua Wally LOVES large dogs, (even though he's a bit bossy). However, larger dogs HAVE to be used to small dogs as Wally could easily be a one-bite-snack! Most of my experience is with smaller breeds, but as long as a dog is well-behaved and friendly, I personally have no issues with size. In the past, I have given medications to my fur babies on a daily basis. I'd like to know about any health issues, but comfortable with problems. Personality is obviously important: does the dog like to play or is he/she a couch potato? I'm super-flexible and happy with both. I'd definitely try to stick with your dog's regular routine, as I know that routine is very important when an owner is away.
A typical day
I'm a huge walker and walk Wally every day depending on weather. As he's kind of an old guy now, we probably only manage about a mile. However, can drop Wally off & continue, better for me too! If all else fails, we play ball in my backyard or play chase in the house. I also have a tub full of well-chewed toys.
